Yeh I think we are dotted about the country so meeting up seems out of the question. £40 seems a bit steep I got my pair posted from holland for £35 how about I pay the same for yours as corbleu wants for his? I could potentially get one of my mates to collect from you.

how long do you need the steerer to be because I obviously have the last set I bought alternatively the set you have now might fit mine and corbleu could sell you his? I am looking for a fork to fit a 52cm Vitus 979 (ie the matching fork!) If anyone has anything please pm me as I have just had a pair sent over from holland only to find that the steerer is too short.

Just a quick thanks for the advice, spoke to cycle aid who told me to tell the insurers to stick it as they were taking the piss and that £1K would be the minimum to accept for the injuries and that they should be paying out for my property and that there was no way the driver could not accept liability. Net result: they just folded. Cheque in the post and driver accepted liability so massive thanks ta2!

Yeh was daft and rang the "non-emergency hotline" they did not seem to know what they were talking about. Just cant understand how he can claim he is not liable, hitting me in the side/back as I exit a roundabout!

Spoke to the police the night of the incident however due to the fact that I did not have a limb hanging off they wanted naff all to do with it! Spose it would not harm ringing them again.

Just wonder if anyone can help me with a bit of advice regarding my accident:
About a month ago I was knocked off as I exited a roundabout. The car struck my left chain stay writing off the frame and rear wheel, the impact with the floor destroyed my saddle and brake levers. The car stopped and after initially loosing my rag in a big way I calmed down and we swapped details. Unfortunately I had not seen this thread till i got back home so took no witnesses. Initially they said I was going too fast (until I pointed out had I been going any slower I would have gone through their windscreen!) then they said I had no lights on (until I pointed out the fact that I had 3!). First of all they said that they would just pay up so not to have to bother with their insurance however after receiving the quote to replace the bike etc they changed their minds.
After chasing the insurance company for two weeks they have finally come back saying that he is not admitting liability but they will pay out £350 for the bike (about half of the quote) and for a couple of the bits and £250 for my bruising. Is it worth pursuing this or just settle? I have photos of the marks I left on the road so it is clear I had right of way. Will him not accepting liability affect me?
