Raleigh Nova Mixte bike for sale, 44cm seat tube. Mostly original 70's bike, 5 speed sachs Huret gears. Brakes have been updated to modern calipers and the previous set were not fit for purpose. Includes new brake cables.
It needs some work, such as hubs need servicing and the gears an over haul but with some TLC would restore nicely.
Need to get rid of pretty sharpish as the Mrs has got a replacement bike on the way. Looking for £50 collection only from Croydon.
Any questions please ask, Dibs plus PM please.

Got a pair of Mavic cxp 22 rims and hubs up for grabs. Came off my old Specialized allez 2010. They have seen about 1500ish miles but the breaking surface is still pretty decent.
Front is spins true and free, still in great condition.
The rear currently has a broken spoke and is not true. Has been trued in the past but I decided to get something a bit tougher so I didn't get this repaired. Although it certainly can be repaired but in all fairness don't expect to take on huge rides on it!
Shimano fit, had an 8 speed cassette on the back. Not completely sure if it would take a larger cassette though.
Looking for £30 for the pair, collection from London Victoria, during the working day.
Dibs and PM please.

Shimano A520 SPD's, used as my first clipless pedals so fairly scratched but perfectly useable. £5
Pair of black front and rear brake calipers, removed from a Specialised Allez 2010. Think these are Tektro but not sure, pads are hardly worn. Only seen a few hundred miles. £5
Pair of Specialized All Condition Flak Jacket Tyres 23x700c, seen about 500 miles but still got life left in them. £5.
Collection from around London Victoria only, not that willing to post considering the prices.
Dib and PM please.

robread, these are the sorts of threads which create anger and flaming, you pretty much know what you want, but your asking the forum to justify and confirm it.
Why?
At that price point the groupset is probably going to be the same on all of them, and there isn't going to be a noticeable difference in the quality of production of the frame.
So make a decision. £500 is entry level in road bikes and though relatively it's a lot of money, in road bike terms its peanuts and you don't get any appreciable difference in quality. So go with your first choice and buy it, and ride it.
My advice to you. go look for a grands worth of bike knocked down to 600 from somewhere like evans http://www.evanscycles.com/categories/sale/complete-bikes/road-bikes?page=1
more bang for your buck.I don't see what is wrong with asking for advice when i consider myself abit of a novice when it comes to bikes. There might be something glaringly obvious which i haven't considered.
Thanks all for the advice. Much appreciated.
