Thanks guys, It does feel heavy. but once you're rolling its fine. I made because I'm trapped in deepest darkest Norfolk with nothing but an arc welder for entertainment. And all the steel was free. I thought about drilling holes in the plates to shave a bit of weight off but I don't want it to look like swiss cheese, and I quite like the fact its sooooo sturdy.

Finished off my parts bin beater today. Complete with custom front rack, welded with my own fair hands. Made from 12mm rebar and scrap 3mm plate lying about in my dads garage. Weighs a ton .

You'll need to get your BB shell faced if you want to run GXP type cranksets..

I didn't get my bb shell faced and it has work fine on 2 different frames.
