I'm of the opinion nothing is waterproof after a couple of hours heavy rain (as thoroughly tested on a night ride to the coast a few years back). Carry spare gloves etc, with a plastic bag to put the wet items in.

At that time it wasn't the balls of my feet that were the problem, it was corns on both little toes which he pared down with a scalpel. Legacy of tight shoes in my youth. Using a pumice stone doesn't work for me, so the Body Shop foot file once a week does the trick.
A visit to the chiropodist would be useful with self maintenance afterwards, interspersed with pedicures for those 'feeling a bit flush and I deserve a treat' moments.

I'm afraid I can't make the meeting on Monday and am not sure if my other commitments leave space to make myself available, but I'll keep an eye out just in case. After all, you might need a 'bag watching person' or something.
Looking forward to the 'beaming with pride even though I've contributed nothing to this' moment.
