oh, the brake worked somewhat, just had to undo the lever that narrows it down to the rim.
I saw this done in the TDF, felt like a right pro after that :pSearching for Nicholas Roche quote fail,
Along the lines of: wheel breaking, loosening back brake, then going over the top of the mountain and almost dieing on the first two turns when he forgot he had no back break.Pro :)

The Whoooshing along was great, until you hit a bit of lane where the verge isn't clearly defined, and outside the range of you're lights you can't see if its left, right or straight on. Although it gives an added adrenaline boost!
Definitely up for a BBQ next year, although we might need truncheons etc. to fight off non-forumites.

Yeah I think 2 out of 1200 + is pretty good going.
So did anyone figure out what happened with accidents and stuff?
There was talk about a road block that made 300 people stop. I hope everyone came out of it ok?I think Henry and I got caught up in this, quite early? I think it was a junction just around a blind corner and people stopping to check maps and it just backed up quickly.
We didn't see too many cars, also didn't see too many people who listened to calls but I guess we're not all roadies ... ;p
Still was an awesome ride!

Ah that was fun. Thanks to VB and Seldom Killer for sorting everything out. I can highly recommend a peanut butter bagguete stuffed in your jersy pocket. Worked wonders.
Also thanks to Henry for setting a great pace and being great fun to ride with, and the Dulwhich boys for giving us a new burst of energy for the second half/Such fun!

I wonder if Andy Schleck would have done better with the help of his brother?
I think its seems like Andy is the stronger so Contador probably would have just marked Andy anyway. Also last year, Andy seemed unsure of weather to keep attacking or wait for Frank. That said it would have probably helped string things out on earlier stages

Anyone ever revived a phone which was drowned and powered itself off while being submerged (i.e., shorted)?
Yes
stick it in a zip loc bag with a load of white rice. Leave it for 24 hours and pray.
That said my mobile connection only works intermittently so its sort of worked. YMMV.
Also, I think the battery might short before the phone, saving the phones innards. -

Not true sadly. They are so popular that you can wait for 20+ minutes, and the pace that they go at, quality is sadly missing. Good, but not worth waiting for anymore.
For Thorpness, there is the famous house in the clouds, which you can rent, and see in the bottom right of the picture, which is awesome :)
