Thanks for recommendations. Have booked the bike into Corsa Italiana in the end. Because I've been ill, the bike has spent the majority of the last three years sitting under a tarp, and I have no idea what might have corroded or perished. It actually started first time today, having had the battery on trickle charge for a week, but I decided that I want a main dealer service for this one. Because they only do Guzzis, Corsa might pick up some really obscure failure that a mechanic used to japanese stuff might not notice.

Just seen one of these up close, and I must say I was pretty impressed with it. Maybe it would fall to bits in a month, but they are so cheap you could practically chuck it away and get a new one!

You're not paranoid, your phone actually is spying on you.

Did anyone post these at the time? They are still up on iPlayer for a bit. It still takes my breath away to watch people doing more than 200mph on ordinary roads.

Well, I have power in the battery, and the dash lights up when I turn the key, but no joy when I push the start button.
Warning light at the bottom of the dash seems to be telling me that the ECU is disconnected or faulty.
Could I have blown a fuse? I guess I'm playing with electrics this weekend... -

It bloody works!
Battery attached to my Maplin booster battery with its built in jump leads, positive to positive. Charger connected and immediately all the correct lights come on like a christmas tree.
It now has enough charge in it to get rid of the booster, and is on trickle charge all night as if nothing had happened.
Will be interesting to see if there is any lasting effect to the battery, but it seems that AGM batteries are much more forgiving of deep discharge. -
Deeply discharged Motobatt AGM battery, trying to charge it with a smart charger, but no joy. Professor google tells me that it's because smart chargers are configured so that they can't see very deeply discharged batteries and AGM batteries in particular because they have a very low resistance compared to other types.
Apparently there is a trick to get the thing charged, which involves buffering with a fully charged battery in series with the dead one.
Has anyone tried this?
I'm fully prepared to buy a new battery, but this has to be worth a shot, right? -

Bought a really nice marinated lamb leg steak at The Ginger Pig in Borough Market today, along with half a dozen of their posh italian sausages.
Rushed home to get them in the fridge, and they were nowhere to be seen. Obviously left them on the counter, or at another stall.

Yes, how much of our arguably good position in the world is down to the fact that we joined up years ago, and what would our relative position be if we had not joined the EU.
That said, many things, such as human rights, depend on our membership of the Council of Europe, which is a completely different organisation of many more member countries than the EU, and of which we will remain a member whether we leave the EU or not.
Mine seems to blow fuses all the time, just for fun!
