Sizes:

toptube: 56,5 cm center to center.

Frame: Dedacciai 18MDCV6 tubing.

Equipment: Campagnolo Veloce groupset.
Wheelset: Campagnolo hubs with Wolber rims.
Nice condition of frame, groupset and wheelset. Hardly any signsof use. Chrome some small spots on right chainstay. A minor point is: as many Pinarellos of this age have bad/damaged decals , this one also suffered from bad decals. So the original decals on seattube and on downtube have been replaced by new ones

Hi Coolraoul,
this is the story. I was in Belgium and saw this black beauty, couldn't resist and took the bike home. The seller told me this story:
Donnay is a worldfamous (Belgian) brand of nice tennisrackets.
In the eighties carbon was coming up as a very innovative material for tennisrackets.. So Donnay decided to produce a carbonmade tennisracket, very revolutionary in that period.
To show carbon is very strong, can even be used for bikes, and also for promotional purposes, Donnay asked Eddy Merckx what is the best frame for a Donnay carbon roadbike (as far as I know Alan had this Carbonio, but Giant, Specialized and maybe Vitus also had frames with carbon tubes and aluminium lugs).
However Eddy went to Italy and came back with 200 Alan Carbonio frames. This frame must be one of those 200. The Donnay Alan Carbonios were diveded under the starplayers of Donnay ( a.o. Agassi), other men/women in the tennisworld and some employees.
The seller told me his father had a relationship with Donnay.
Il like this kind of bike stories. and above all it's a beautiful composition in black and wide with a very nice ride.

Most remarkable on this bike is the frame: one of the first carbon frames, an Alan Carbonio frame.
the groupset: shimano 600 tricolour.
Wheelset: Shimano 600 hubs, Mavic rims.
The bike is in a really very nice condition. Over the years the Donnay has hardly been used.
