It's true....
I don't know where Middlesbrough is, I've never eaten Dairy Lea and and the only think I 'dunk' in my PG Tips is a spoon to remove the nicely designed triangular tea-bag.
Pesky young people going around stealing people's names without asking, it's just not right.
As for the pic - well this springs to mind....

Just to be clear... this is nothing to do with me, isn't me, and never would be me..... shocking behaviour from the young people of today. They didn't even ask.

prefer this video :)
http://www.promonews.tv/2009/08/12/just-jack%E2%80%99s-the-day-i-died-by-ben-and-joe-dempsey/mainly so you don't have to see his stubby nose ;)
Fair point, still wouldn't kick him out of bed if he farted mind, just saying.... ;-)

@Bagheera - something like this;

How flattering - thank you - another pint of Guinness Sir?

@Damo... I'm in exactly the same place... wondering about starting a 4th career, working freelance again and hating it, slightly too much time on my hands, obsessing about weird things (like my new bike which is taking months to sort as I've become obsessed about welding....) ... fancy starting a self-help group?

I know it's a year old, but this is awesome... the lyrics about having lunch on a park bench, and the pidgeons, inspired. Took me a couple of goes to see the optimism in the song and now I can't stop playing it!

And just FYI, the fact that he's also VERY cute has not influenced my constant repetition of the video not one bit either.

Help required..... looking for something a bit different to do with a couple of Duck Breasts tomorrow apart from just whack'em in a hot pan and cook the outside..... they're now defrosting in the fridge, and I just can't get excited about them. Have searched Google, and still can't find anything imaginative..... any thoughts Team? Help much appreciated!

What I am also not clear about is what ‘success’ would look like to some of the very different concerns raised above…
For example.... philosophically is the aim more women on here, if a poster was produced next year? http://www.lfgss.com/junk/2010-Poster.jpg
Or is it literally more women cyclists on rides? Or more non-high-posting/new members on rides (male or female?) That’s certainly fixable with more rides that have a reason to the ride: a venue/picnic/country-house/event say, rather than a testosterone implied sprint to a pub, or Brighton at 3am on a Sunday morning. IMHO.
More women posting? How would we know when we all operate under nicknames, does the sex of the poster really matter? Jemjah’s amazingly honest, brave, and fascinating postings about her recent experiences matter not one jot that she was female (Jemjah, hope you don't mind me saying that or using you as an example, we've never met). What surely really really matters is she made a hugely positive contribution to the forum, and I believe long term to cyclists in London….through choosing to post on LFGSS.
Or is the wider debate above really again about… the tone of the forum. This is t’internet, and a pretty in-your-face forum at that; it’s like the school playground at my old Comp. We posters and lurkers, get the forum we deserve…. for better or worse.
We live in the most diverse, exciting, wonderful City in the World; LFGSS should reflect that, not encourage barriers to entry.
I would hope with better, more aggressive, self policing, and a more imaginative ride offering then the forum can become ever more welcoming and inclusive to all groups: be they more women, more gays like me, or even those people who ride with gears…
Just want to understand exactly what problem/s we're trying to 'fix'. Just saying....
:-)
