You're quite right. After I read the above I dug out the instructions for the cassette (which included both types, and which naturally I ignored), and Veloce spacer order is just as complicated as Record, but in a different way of course. Naturally, I then had to take apart my new cassette and rebuild it as per the instructions. Luckily, I had it correct more or less by accident the first time. After years of Shimano cassettes, my return to Campag was a bit of a shock - who the hell designs cassettes with 4 different types of spacers in one cassette? (well, Campag does, for one).
You live and learn.

Sorry, about that. Obviously, Campag have upped their "pointlessly over complicated" factor since I last took apart one of their 10 speed cassettes, which was about, let me see, 2 weeks ago.
Come to think of it, it was a Veloce cassette, which I carelessly assumed would have been the same as Record. Glad you got it sorted in the end.

I just fitted some TRP brake levers which I found to be very comfortable.

I have the same problem with a mid-90's Colnago. The cable stops are too small to accept a standard 5mm ferrule. You can manage by omitting the ferrule and stripping 5mm of the plastic coating at the end of the outer and pushing the naked outer into the stop. But the stepped ferrule makes this unnecessary and looks neater.
Can't help with decals, I'm afraid. Argos cycles of Bristol repainted mine and they acquired the decals.

Finding aftermarket rings that match with the look of these is not easy. I fitted a Stronglight outer ring to mine. It went on fine.

If someone was caught doping mechanically, I reckon the rest of the peloton would lynch them, unlike chemical doping where it's more like 'there by the grace of God go I ....'
