Just taken some quick pics but they're not the best! I'd say good condition would be a fairer description than vgc but never crashed on and it works perfectly.

Maybe look into 650c track frame options? If you're looking at a 45cm frame then it might not be a bad option to avoid masses of overlap. My girlfriend who rides a 45 was keen to try fixed but was worried about the overlap so i got her a 650c frame and there's none. As others have said overlap isn't normally a huge issue but you gotta go with what you're comfortable with.

Had a nasty close pass by the driver of a private hire ambulance this morning just as 2 lanes merged into onto one forcing me right into the curb. I move back out from the curb to give myself some space so the van driver behind goes onto the other side of the road to get past and gives me the "what the fuck are you doing there?" look and i give him the "why the fuck are you trying to pass me when there's lights coming up?" look. 50 metres down the road he's sat in line at the red he should of already seen with his passenger window down ready to engage with me. He's young and a fair sized unit so before he gets going i say to him as calmly as i can "Listen, i just had a nasty close pass, it wasn't the first of the day and there was a big (actually quite small) drain coming up on my left. I moved over to avoid that, regroup and give myself some space ". He replies "er, yeah i saw that, she (the ambulance driver) got way to close, are you ok?". Me "I'm fine thanks", him "did i give you enough space?", me "yeah plenty, metre and a half is ideal", him "OK, cheers". Lights change "have a good one", "you too mate".
Now wandering if i just dreamt that.

Sorry, misunderstood previous posts, thought you were considering silver calipers, i think the black groupset looks great.
I have a silver CK on my Argos and i can switch between black or silver finishing kit nicely with that. As others have said i think it might match the lugs nicely but also the downtube bosses and cages. I also think it could maximise the impact of the wheels and groupset by keeping the frame looking than much more classic.
Note the use of might and could, it's a killer build that would be hard to improve on

This is lovely, personally i wouldn't change anything just for looks whilst the handling's out. If you want silver calipers DA 7900's might be good modern option. The only thing i'd change for looks would be the black headset to a silver/ti/pewter option (you'd probably want this if putting a silver stem on). But then again if i'd just forked out for a CK i wouldn't want to change it!

Selling some shoes to pay for bike parts... Nothing fancy, i'm not a shoe buff and none of these are box fresh/mint etc but they're all in decent condition with minimal wear to the soles.
Adidas Iniki original, UK9, signs of wear but good condition, £25 > SOLD

NorthFace back to Berkley boots, UK8.5, i love these but they're just a touch too small so they never really get worn, good condition, £30 > SOLD

Poste black leather slip ons, UK9, smart casual affair, a few marks but good condition, £20

I can stick some more pics up if keen, collection from Sydenham/Clerkenwell or can post at cost
cheers.

CAAD hasn't changed or moved post my bike holiday (minus bags but still covered in sand)

To be honest i hit some pretty shitty roads and it was fine on the 28's but it just felt a bit wrong abusing it like that. I'd planned to go full racer with it but i'm in two minds now.
Grey or white seem to be the winning forum colours atm, the fade design isn't the most balanced but it would be cool to keep a fade design if you switch colours.

Thanks, i suspect it's more than capable enough for me, i neither race or do much fast road riding. The main draw is to have something i can take longer distance without having to stick to the smoother roads.
I quite like the paint job, what colour were you thinking if you respray it?
@PhilDAS CAAD disc would be nice but the Brother would be a straight frame swap with my CAAD (bar some canti's which i already have).

Glad you're enjoying Bath, i grew up on the London road but haven't lived there for over 15 years now. I visit family and friends there occasionally and my girlfriend likes it but i just can't see myself living there again. It's a shame as it has a lot to offer but i guess the feeling of going backwards doesn't sit right. Plus i'm banned from every nightclub/bar/kebab shop for fighting on Saturday nights...

Genuine question, probably best answered by a teacher but do people think being that thick is really a failure of the education system? I've met people with more GCSE's and A levels than my entire family (i have 3 GCSE's...) but on the face of it they seem like morons.
Conversely we keep getting 16 year old work experience kids into my work place and it's intimidating how smart and well rounded they appear to be.

I'd say build it. It's your design and it looks like a fun project, but...
Please keep all the original parts, the stock build i've seen in the past was so classically cool. That way if the new build doesn't work out you can do an easy frame swap and end up with 2 very cool bikes.
Also, you sure you want to use a quill adaptor on this?

First proper outing on the MTB since post winter service (this may be my new good weather only bike...), actual current project lurking behind safari man @platypus and those short shorts!

No worries, good luck with the Ultegra gear and give me a shout if if the 105 becomes an option.
