If i can keep my recent escapade into MTB'ing going I'm pretty sure i will be going from HT to FS when funds allow. Not because riding HT has helped me learned all the basics and now i'm ready to take it to new "extremes" but because i'm shit and the amount i ride will remain that way for a while and all i care about is having fun. That's not easy on a red at BPW when you don't know what you doing and you have no rear suspension.

Chiang Mai is a blast from the past, i lived there almost 20 years ago. Quick googling comes up with loads of interesting bike stuff, back then i had a hot rodded Honda dream but no one rode push bikes! I used to have to run up Doi suthep most weeks, can already imagine how much more fun that would be on the bike. Me and the CAAD 8 just got back from Japan, time to start planning my next trip east.

Amazing frame, will make a great project.
Have you tried putting some wide handlebars in there and a beater front wheel to get some leverage (clamp wheel between legs, gently rotate bars)? Also IME some headsets exert a little clamping pressure when tightened, if you haven't already it might be worth slackening it off.

Having an afternoon kip on the weekend and woke up to this.

Contrary to the catflap i don't own a cat anymore so was somewhat surprised to find this jerk trying to enter my house whilst i'm lying there in full view. It literally kept putting it's paw on the step to enter but receded each time i yelled no at it. My girlfriend on the other hand went into full "so cute" mode, so i banished both of them to play in the garden. She then got the lecture on how you should never feed someone else's cat and it's not cool to pet someone else's animal without there permission. It's been back several times now to chill in the garden but we're doing our best to ignore it. Question is, is petting someone else's cat in your garden OK?
I now find myself looking at the window waiting for twatface as i've called it to return and brighten my day but i have a horrible feeling he/she comes from the questionable home that backs on to my garden and is most likely looking for a better gig.
Gonna ask around the neighbourhood and see if anyone knows who it belongs to. Condition wise it looks healthy but there's no collar and is clearly very young, there is also the possibility that it's an abandoned stray.

Argos finally gets some TLC. Forum sourced CK headset and EAI cog fitted along with O.G forks and Sram caliper to resolve Shimano clearance issues. Road Runner bag is my current favourite bit of kit.
And the bike that just took me across Japan faultlessly deserves a pic.
