Really strange, lots of normally priced items, then this

Can it? Not a dig - genuinely curious. We’ve 11 radiators so £4-6o0 worth of Tado depending on what deals are on - been hovering again while they’re on special. Heating on 6 months a year, so 12 months over 2 - are smart TRVs really going to make £50 a month a difference on bills? Appreciate that amortisation continues over time, but my back of envelope calcs (not knowing exactly how much energy we’d save) are nearer 5 years that 1 or 2, given that we are quite economical with the thermostat/trvs as is - and it is scheduled accordingly to our lifestyle.

FWIW I agree with the above, if it was me I’d just pay it off. @cjr is right about offset mortgages, but realistically if your income is such that you were happily paying the mortgage, you could quickly chunk fairly substantial savings over time anyway, which I expect would also feel pretty fucking good each month once your biggest outgoing (I would imagine) was taken care of.

The utilitarian answer is if you can gain interest on it as an investment greater than your mortgage rate, then do that and you are in profit at the end of the 24 years.
Obviously this places zero value on the psychological benefit of being mortgage free. (Which in turn is a fallacy if you have accessible liquid funds to pay it off at any point.)
You won’t struggle for credit with a steady income that is enough to (theoretically) pay a mortgage and a home that you own.

Kit question - anyone got any experience with fold flat benches? I've looked at mirafit, bulldog, blkbox and all the folding options look flimsy/are cheapest option. It's for the garage so something that can go out the way is ideal if they're viable.
Also any good plate deals for black friday/November/consumerfest?
