A customer brings in a Scott mtb bike to work today complaining of it riding strangely. He explained that it was brand new from Evans, the one in London Bridge, and that they built it for him and gave him a 'fitting'. He asked us to give it a once over.

The Evans mechanics built the bike with the forks on the wrong way round.

Dealing with Dave Hinde and co was a pleasure. I called up a couple of times for info, they were happy to tell mew the weight of the frame and forks, and talk to me about the headset that they included. Top notch guys.

I can get them at trade from Fishers for £130 or there abouts.

the forks on the Hinde are carbon. very very light too. frame and forks weigh in just under 1.4kgs which is nice.

I think it may be internet bollocks too but dont want to risk shelling out £130 for cranks and them not fitting without going through a faff.

this arrived in the post yesterday (sorry Melon...) and I am getting my head round a build. I am thinking about going for Truvativ Omniums as I think they will suit the frame and they are meant to be super stiff. However I have heard reports of crank slap on frames with thicker chain stays. The Hinde frame has mahusive stays. They are rectangular though, so maybe they will be thinner then an oval of the same size, hmm.

any thoughts or advice for better cranks?

I would have thought the name of the thread would have INSINUATED we were all wanking over bikes, But I imagine that is hardly the case.... And if I was your spacer stack and bogs with see through map pockets just gave me a big floppy one.

I think of it differently to this.
