saw a guy on a tandem with a skeleton strapped on the back seat and a 'boycott addison lee' flag in hyde park this evening, great work.
He's going to attempt to break the record for longest distance cycled (JOGLE) with an anatomical skeleton on a tandem for charity. http://www.skeletonfund.com/ #shamelessplugformyskeleton

It felt a bit hollow coming from the die-in and having 2 close passes by black cabs in the bus lane, even if some tooted in support. Black cabs are hardly "allies", but whether they should have access to bus lanes is an argument for another day when all sundry of minicabs don't decide to go into the bus lane.

vote 1: Boris - weak candidate who im not so fond of but hes not Ken who is a disaster of a man and even more dishonest than boris, also, 3 terms in any kind of seat of power does democracy no good at all
vote 2: paddock/jones/independent woman - they arent kenYou should probably swap your votes around or there's no point, especially as you don't seem that keen on Johnson.

Also, someone has been running a fun little twitter poll. Scraping tweets and looking at numbers of tweets and whether they have been generally positive or negative with R. It has loads of selection bias and it wont detect irony or sarcasm but interesting.
Pretty much: lots of chatter about Johnson and Livingston and mainly people critical of the latter.

just saw this..
http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2012/apr/18/black-honeybees-rediscovered-in-britain
I'm looking at buying a colony of these from a breeder at the moment, loads of different accounts on their temperament and productivity. BIBBA seem a very odd and secretive bunch who really aren't helping with increasing native bee stocks among beekeepers though...

Selling the below Peugeot premiere (c-t 54cm).

£40 - SoldAlso selling this rather fetching 24.8mm seat post (bought because I can't measure things), 320mm long with a few marks on the bottom where I realised it would not fit.
£10 soldAlso a unicycle, bought on a whim a few years back and never learnt because I shouldn't be allowed on ebay when I'm revising. Has a 16" wheel and surface rust but fine.

If you reunite the "clans" at a later date, do the queen bee's have to have a dominant queen bee fight?
I think generally you do the choosing of the dominant and humanely squish the weak one, although if you choose to let a colony choose which queen it wants out of a few, some fighting gotta happen.

So... what's the difference in spokes. Say Sapimo cx-ray's compared to sapim race, the wheel building thread seems keen on the latter, but for a cheap build for someone looking to commute with the occasional longer ride, would a cheaper spoke be falling into "buy cheap, buy twice" or "ech, its cheap and not the best, but will be fine"? Essentially, any recommendations for spokes for a hub gear build...

what is an artificial swarm out of interest ?
If the colony looks like its preparing to swarm, you can kinda do some jiggery-pokery with them to make them think they have swarmed without them really leaving your control.
Basically, move the queen and all the flying bees into a new hive (but same location) and move old hive nearby so that the remaining bees rear a new queen, giving you two colonies which you can reunite at a later date if you should want.

the cyclist should give the details of their insurance to the driver and get them to deal with the claim directly.
I did this with the scenario above Kev's and then later had a phone call from the driver saying I had to get things rolling on my end before they could claim (now done so).
Still mightily bumbling about the processes but thanks for the advice from everyone.
