@ Sam . Yes, you got it spot on. You're road condition markers were also fondly rememberd as I was riding the Merckx first time in a ride and was not fully confident about the bike for around twenty miles. I find it always amazing how I see a route the second time. Of course I made it into Downe this time around. And at Herne Hill I followed our route as well, a bit of a detour I was not entirely happy with as I saw riders already clocked in I had beaten fare and square. It is a sportive after all. Des cheered me well up so.

Was a great ride. I would guess about 150 showed up. Set out with the four hour group and was dropped rather soon. The last ten miles were brilliant. After riding two/thirds of the ride alone was able to not get caught by anybody in that Pilgrims Lane to Herne Hill stretch! :-) All those TNRC hills and ride in's! Got lost in Herne Hill would you believe it! 4:42 due to that and a mechanical. Not bad for my first sportive.

Ride this Saturday 9am outside the winchester pub.
Medium to paced 38 miles. This is a lovely ride that goes through an area known as little Switzerland so is pretty hilly.

Felt a little bit apprehensive about this, but what a brilliant night on the bikes. Loved the fog. Loved the company. Loved the ride. Thanks Tim for coming up with the idea and Sam for leading us up those hills where you crashed your first car; in perfect style we of course headed straight for an A road without you, avoiding the drop into Downe which looked perfect. Another thing to look forward to on Sunday.

You are racing; good news there! So which train will I have to avoid?
