^ That made me laugh and remember. We built rocket cars made out of Matchbox chassis and sawed of steerer tube powered by fertilizer and sugar mixture. This we set off in a large court. They blasted away erratic but speedy time after time. And then it did not, nice yellow flame turned to blue and then white and then went out. So we thought. When we tried to get it a bang that kept my ears ringing for hours. The steerer tube flew away ten yards and when we found it had been shredded to bits. Lucky escape.

I am going to get a new bike paid by insurance and a condition is that all parts will be sourced from BLB. The BLB guys practically insist that I get a custom made frame, and I might as well seeing as the insurance is paying. I'll take any advice you might have on custom frames, but the first issue is tubing and the compromise between strength and lightness.
My main concern regarding strength is that since this will be my daily ride I will leave it locked up with a d-lock in all sorts of places. It does happen that people try to shuffle around your locked bike which can make your lock dent the tubing. I've seen it happen on other people's bikes.
Apart from that I only need a 52cm frame and I am not very heavy myself so I presume that allows for fairly light tubing when it comes to actual riding.
.
And in Columbus land, seeing as I am not very heavy and presumably not very "demanding" (whatever that means) I can choose SL over Cromor?
Might be a price issue though mind you, I'll find out next week.EDIT: They don't seem to make SL anymore, but supposedly there is plenty left in the market?
Oh, and lugged versus welded. Do I care? Should I?
Are BLB frame builders? Custom frame usually means you get a frame built? Get a Bob Jackson with some Royce or Goldtec hubs and some nice wheels and the other components you like. Whether I would leave that locked outside is another question.

It was awesome! 7 of us took to the lanes, lots of highs, I think most of us had a few lows too in the middle of the night, but something would always happen to lighten the mood.

, Tim and Skive were the only ones to head to the spa, Braker shot off soon after brekkie to head home, Ludwig and I followed not long after, leaving Des who was waiting for 11 o'clock so he could have a beer.
Just a couple of mechanicals (read: punctures), really smooth roads through what looked to be some beautiful villages. And the canal into Bath was very scenic. Took a few crap pics, will post later.
Thanks to Tim for sorting this out. Thanks to Jonny, Steve and Sam for direction when we needed it the most. Thanks to all for the laughs and good company.
+1.
Chain is sorted.
Nice to get on the bike again to go to the post office.

we go through Brussels on the way to Berlin. Give us some top tips!
http://www.lfgss.com/member2458.html
works near Bruxelles. He'll have some tips. Regarding cycling in Bruxelles you'll probably know. Saw one cyclists in Bruxelles when I was there on a weekend before Easter. My bike stayed in the bag. A Belgium friend advised to take the train out of town to start my ride to Germany as cycling is so dangerous.
