I want to go home and play GTA5.

Whilst riding the 'London Sightseer' audax around the area yesterday, a cyclist was warning us about the road closures because of this accident. He didn't witness the actual incident, but arrived a few minutes after the incident - but he did say she was in pretty bad shape.

Try scouting it out in parts - say four split up over 2 weekends. Do some on saturday, then take the train to another point on the sunday. Then repeat the following week - there is no point killing yourself just to scout out the route.

I would love to help, but I have an audax ride I'm doing on saturday. But can help next weekend. If my plans about saturday change then I will let you know.

I was going to suggest perhaps getting this recognised as an Audax UK ride, but looking at the handbook that could be hard given the time frame. What do people think about that suggestion?

Not quite the same as putting it up on facebook - but since we are in the process of becoming a cycle club. Why not do things more like a club was my thinking.

My GTA5 still has not shipped :-( I only ordered on friday. With Prime - so it should be with me tomorrow - fingers x.

Yesterday at Butlers Wharf - Polly and Dom walking. I was doing the 'London Sightseer' audax. From the waterfront the instructions said go under Tower Hill, I was meant to turn into the alley before Butler Wharf.

Well I rode the 'London Sightseer' today - was pretty awesome. Nice route, not very hilly at all - weather was bearable most of the day. Managed to get quite a bit round before the downpour. The route back goes through Fulham about 1/2 mile from my place, so was very tempted to call it a day. But then the rain stopped again, and I blasted it to Richmond Park. When I got there the duathlon was finishing. So I was told I could not cycle to Ham gate using the usual route. So I was forced to go the long way round, adding a couple of extra miles plus the big hill I hate.

Well organised and good company on the ride. Mostly not fast, due to the route plus the conditions. An audax worth doing, highly recommended.

Legs are in recovery - looks like a Brompton day tomorrow!

In - I'm free on Sunday and the weather looks reasonable. Just paid the fees on paypal - so this will be my first official audax!

Yeah Mick you are right - I got MGS4 recently stopped playing it like after 10 minutes, not gone back yet!

Going to bite the bullet and get a proper GPS. Using my phone is not working out on long rides. Is the Garmin eTrex 20 the one to get then?

Have you read the book? I Am Legend basically invented survivalist horror. It's fucking great. Also the ending is completely different, and if they'd just followed that plot, a) it would have been a much better film, b) I'd have much respect for Will Smith. However then it wouldn't have been a hollywood blockbuster.

I still think 'The Omega Man' was better in many ways. Though they stole lots from it in 'I am Legend'.

Xbox it is then. Now to book a couple of days off :-)

So which version of GTA5 should I go for PS3 or XBox? - no PC version on launch is coming soon apparently.

I finally watched 'The Place Beyond The Pines' last night - was actually quite impressed. Not the film I thought it was, which is probably why I liked it so much. RyGo was so so. I imagine that when this was in the cinemas - lots of girls left half way through the movie. (Though probably not as much a 'Only God Forgives'.) Which is a shame since Bradley Cooper was pretty good.

And who the fuck is the fella in the title role?

Joel Kinneman - he was in 'The Killing' (american) series. Plus he has got a load of films coming out soon.

It would've been better if they'd put Pharrell in it instead.

He is already robotic, would have been perfect!

The ride is go! Hopefully see everyone at the c&h at 12.

Amazon have been out of original Paperwhites for a month or so - which was a big indicator that a refresh was coming.

So the only ones left are those in stock at retailers. The new one is the same price as the old one. I bought my dad a paperwhite from PCWorld last week - they still have loads. But I doubt you will see a price drop unless retailers cut the price to clear inventory. The other way of getting one cheaper is look for refurbs from Amazon.

I use my Brompton usually for commuting via the train, days that I can't be asked to cycle the whole 15 miles each way. I tend to use the Brompton more in the winter months. At the weekend I use it about town, providing I don't need to carry too much.

I don't mind long rides on the Brompton up to 20 miles is quite comfortable. Having said that I have a single speed setup, so touring on mine would be a challenge. If I ever were to take it around Europe I would probably upgrade to a 3-speed.

Climbing feels like the bars will wrench off.
