I just remember Vin was in 'Saving Private Ryan' too. Just a small role since he takes one in the chest and dies about 40 minutes into the film.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Gotta love a bit of Vin. Haven't seen Pitch Black for years. Now that[I] is[/I] a great film.
+1 - I watched about 10 minutes of Pacifier last night on BBC3 too. My god is it bad or what. Don't know why they made Chronicles of Riddick - when they could have made a much better movie around the Riddick character. It's kind of ironic that Vin Diesel for a period of time refused to do sequels since he claimed it stopped people taking him as a serious actor, yet now all he seems to do well is franchise movies. I'm not knocking him at all. I think the F&F movies of late have been very watchable and enjoyable affairs. I'm hoping he does do another Riddick movie, maybe a prequel to Pitch Black. Hell even a Xxx could be worth seeing.

I liked Heat when it was out but I couldn't watch it again to be honest, once was enough. I would imagine it's aged quite badly, stylistically? (I don't know)
Heat hasn't aged badly at all. Still works on many levels. People have tried to make heist movies like it, but have yet to match it in my opinion. Of late 'The Town' was probably the most notable, which I really like as well.
Heat was actually a re-incarnation of Mann's earlier TV movie called LA Takedown. Which actually wasn't half bad in it's own right. Bad actors, limited budget, cut to 90 minutes. Not surprising that Mann revisited the subject matter with a better cast and more money.

Saw Thor on monday, thought it was good. The voice/accent didn't bug me as much as I thought it was going to. It is short of 2 hours, so in my mind I think they could have had done a little bit more, but thats just me maybe. Looking forward to Captain America and Green Lantern.

Yeah I don't get that either. Does this mean in May they will have decided which of your ticket applications have been accepted, and billed for. But you won't be told of which ones until June. Or am I misunderstanding this too.

I requested the Opening Ceremony, Closing Ceremony, some of the Track and Road cycling events. Noticed that the time trials at Hampton Court are free since they are on public roads. So I'll probably end up going to those as well. Will be interesting to see how this turns out.

Don't change both the chainring and freewheel at the same time, try a different chainring with your current freewheel. Then if you need to change your freewheel.
1.) Yes just buy a chainring with the right BCD and a chainring tool, and you should be able to do it yourself. (Assuming you have a crank puller to get the cranks off the bottom bracket in the first place.)
2.) Yes most probably you will have to lengthen your chain.
3.) I would say it will feel a little tougher at first, but you will get used to it.

Wicked ride guys, thanks so much! Really enjoyed the pace near the front though I couldn't keep up the last couple of miles, and ended up with the second (wrong-way-round-westminster) group.

No worries Dan, just glad to see you get up after a fall like that. I was 3 bike lengths behind you in the other lane when it happened, from there it looked pretty nasty. Good on you to be up and be running again in minutes.

London Fixed Gear and Single-Speed is a community of fixed gear and single-speed cyclists.
I have thought about getting a Brompton too, but have always been put off by the small wheels. Also worried that my size was not really ideal for any folding bike. I'm 6ft tall, but a bit big in the other dimension as well.
Was wondering if there are any big riders on the forum that have a Brompton. What are your experiences of riding? Is the ride harsh, do you find yourself pedaling like a mad man to get anywhere?
