This seems the most active RP thread recently so posting here in case people aren't aware:

Our sympathy goes out to
@AlexandarRicha2
after suffering this horrendous armed robbery in Richmond Park. Please raise awareness and keep an eye out on the sales pages for his bike. Also another similar incident in short space of time:

Looks like a similar incident yesterday in RP.

Are Flingers generally considered better than SKS? I'm building up a Dolan Preffisio frameset. Dolan supply the Flingers as part of their full builds. I've only used SKS before and tempted to go with what I know (considering how painful mudguard fitting can be) but if Flingers are good, and if they fit better on the Dolan may go with them.

People in w London, or possibly even wider. There's been a series of break ins in Acton area, from communal bike stores. Same MO each time.
Breaking in through front door of building and then smashing through any internal fire doors etc to get to bike store. Seems to be an organised thing. Picking off blocks of flats one by one. -

Saw a ridiculous delimited e-scooter doing something like 30mph down Sheen high street (20mph speed limit) swerving erratically around cyclists and cars.
I think sensible e-scooters have a part to play, but this absurd arms race of bigger/ more powerful machines on our roads is just dangerous and depressing.

After my Canyon Ultimate AL SLX was stolen https://www.lfgss.com/comments/16172561/
Looking for a replacement frameset to build up (with parts bin stuff) to make a winter road bike.
Something like a Ribble audax or alike would be good, but interested in any reasonably fast alu, or steel frameset. Ideally with 27.2 seatpost. Standard English thread BB. 1 1/8 headset etc.
Thanks

Had my black Canyon ultimate Al SLX road bike stolen early this morning from a communal bike store in my block of flats near South Acton station. Size large.
Hunt wheels, specialized toupe saddle, SRAM force 22 groupset, FSA omega handlebar, time atac MTB pedals, Cannondale bottle cages, ritchey stem.
It was locked with 2 locks. An Abus D lock and an Abus chain lock. The burglars broke in through the main front door and smashed their way through two internal doors to get to the communal bike store. Possibility it was targeted as there were other bikes in the store, unlocked, that were left.
If anyone sees it, especially in West London, Chiswick/ Acton area, please let me know. It has been reported.

First ride into central during rush hour for a while. Of course, W London into central involves pretty hostile road conditions. There is no cycle infrastructure that spans much of that section of the city (esp since RBKC removed the bike lane). Felt like an arms race. Fast roadies, illegal delimited e-bikes, massive SUVs with single occupants, drivers treating speed limits as minimums. Plus, I nearly got doored.

Yeah it's one of the new ones. Have also heard about negative experiences with Eddie. Will contact him first but will assume that he will be a dick and use the above advice.
Really late response, but how did this go in the end? Fixed under warranty or did you go to a someone else for repair? In a similar situation and wondering what to do.

Thanks for this. Second half after entering Pentland hills onwards was the highlight. Despite saying I was going 650b I took my 700c tyres. Definitely were sections where 650b would have been better, but I also probably had the tyres too hard for much of the ride. I'll probably do the second half again, possibly counter clockwise then after pentland hills take a different route back into town.
Interesting piece on the possibility the petrol crisis could make people question the dominance of motor vehicles
