I put a seatpost in just to check what size it is and started thinking maybe black post and stem would look quite mean with this paintjob? Not this post and stem but a nicer version of this? I had thought silver bits and tan side wall tyres but I quite like the all black

either way..so happy with this frame, I think I will keep the current paint job for this summer, let it get a bit chipped etc then respray the original colours and change the bits as needed then

Would have been robs birthday today so fitting that the frame was picked up today and should be with me tomorrow..can't wait to start building

It's not going to be just a cyclist bar is it surely, so a general nice bar, beer, good coffee etc, maybe go a bit euro style like rapha did.. And it just happens that there's parking, bike stuff on walls, and shows the races

If you can get a trip to Ghent keisse's dads bar is cool, cycling stuff on the walls but not too in your face

Rob that's the one definitely, I saw it in that colour too so the paint is less than 5 years old. I will most likely keep paint as is for now then look to restore later.

I knew what you meant! I'll not be using it outside probably so should be ok!
Currently I think I will just change the stem, most likely get a nitto, add my nitto bars and change the seat, then just use stronlight cranks for now since my rings fit.
If the bike fits my needs then I'll look at new headset, paint job, cranks etc. I have a month off work in June so may do some work on it then.

Saying that, I've not got the frame yet!

I had nitto bullhorns modified at a metal work shop- cut out the middle to make them 33cm and re welded together. You could take some old steel bars you nearly like and get them modified, or consider an extra hand hold for your short arm- some of the para team use bar ends or false hoods for an extra position

You could join a long queue! I doubt I will though as it belonged to a mate

Probably front and rear rack, do team sprint on one bike dropping a guy off each lap

I think he meant to match the original spec- but I wont be using suntour immediately if only because I have a full build kit already that works
also I will be using this for track so I would need to buy 3-4 new chainrings if I swap cranks as I currently use 130bcd stronglights

I dont know anything about suntour-not really seen them in use at track
suntour now seems to come as cheap triple touring chainsets, but presumably it used to higher end if its NJS stamped?

Not sure yet, but big, rob was 6foot3 and he doesn't have the seatpost very high
I'm assuming it will fit me at 6foot4 with a short body

yes stripping it would be very tempting- presumably easy to do and there shouldnt be too much filler etc on the joints?

thats a sweet build- dura ace right? hmm stems are ugly and dont look like I'd trust them for starts! might just accept I'm keeping the same bars for everything- or change the stem

I have soon arriving a cannondale track frame- the blue alloy beauty- which will replace my carbon race beast. I wanted something a bit easier to move in the car, none integrated post and also that I wouldnt be scared to use on the road on dry days for the odd standing starts session etc. when I dont want to pay for the track. The added bonus of this frame is it belonged to a good mate and former colleague who was killed last year so I will be riding it as a bit of a tribute to him/ to remind me of him.

Whilst it gets sorted out I'm musing

1. what brand to put on it- headset, post, cranks, bb can all be got in either Dura Ace or Record- which is more correct for a 'dale from the 90s?

2. stem- I'm going to need a long (130-140mm) quill stem that ends up about level with the top tube so not too radical a drop angle. any thoughts on something bombproof and that will fit my 25.4 nittos?
   Can you get quill stems with removable face plates so I can quickly change bars without taking the tape off etc?

3. wheels I have, tyres tbc but will be one of 2 types for track, seat and bars are none negotiable- bontrager seat that suits my bum and nitto 36cm bars

4. custom fork- I'm thinking the original fork isnt drilled for a brake- I dont fancy riding to the park where I do my outdoors training without a brake- so is there anyone good who makes custom steel/anything that would look right forks?

5. I need a bar top lever that will clamp occassionally for outdoors training -rather than slide on- that will fit 25.4 nitto bars- any thoughts?

any pics of your ready built cannondales for inspiration/just to build my excitement even further would be great
