My bottom bracket is seized on. Searching on this forum with my good eye closed i have found loads about soaking in plusgas. Know it sounds daft but how do you do that?! Like, what recepticle would i use and can you get plusgas in a non-spray can?
Also, is it better than wd40 or gt85? Is there anything better than plusgas?
Fanks
Recepticle is all ready there you pour it in the down tube.
WD40 is not a penetrating oil - it a water dispersant hence WD.
Before you undo - do up it helps to break the stickyness.
If you can get some diesel fuel then that is one of the best things for freeing up stuck components. -

Do You actually mean " drilling a track fork crown " as against what you wrote.
When fixed wheel was the norm for short distance time trials a pure track frame would/could be used.
Round bladed forks with a drilled fork crown would have been how the frame was built.
I had no problems with this set up and still have 1 - all my teeth 2 - the last frame I had built. -

Its a long shot but as its the top of the steerer tube it may be possible to build up the damaged threaded area with some mig weld then grind back the weld material to enable the thread to be re-cut.
If you were to go down this route then the threading die would need to be screwed onto the forks upside down before any weld was put on. That way the die will cut in the right direction and the existing threads would continue into the new ones. Good Luck -

Neither, No power feed to the saddle on both unless No2 has it inside the ways.
No1 you are limited to the top slide travel. To machine anything longer you would need to loosen and move the saddle - possible loss of accuracy on the plus side it looks to have an Albrecht drilling chuck.
No 2 again saddle has no accurate means of moving it. Lathe has more of the appearance of a "second operation machine.
380 volts if you do not have 3 phase then you will need to factor in a phase changer

Computer nurmeric control.
You use a computer program to control the stepper motors that move the machine slides to produce any quantities of the same part. The milling machine I used to use had a digital that read out to three decimal places. Anothe very accutate grinding machine I used a few years ago had a read out to 4 decimal places and when the door into the room was opened the 4th place digit would change. -
1) bend it back
2) switch over the crank arms to remedy the problem
3) just get a new crank arm1) if its steel it should bend back with no problem. Aluminium alloy bit more problematical it might but then it may well be a problem with loss of strength.
2) cranks are handed you need to attach the chain ring.
3) plenty of cranks and bottom brackets come up on the site - not an expensive option and probably the best. -

My local car sprayer will be doing my frame when its ready for paint.
It will be done in "two pack paint". Over the years he has done various car panels for me and I just asked if he would do a bike frame.
This could be a way for you to get a really good paint job done but remember you will have to get the frame cleaned up (blasted to remove all old paint and corrosion if any) Before a sprayer will take the job on. Have an ask around in what ever area you live. -

Could you remove seat pin put a long bar of metal with a long smooth taper on the end down the seat tube and gently ease the dent out by tapping with a hammer the end of the bar.
also some grease will help lubricate the two surfaces as you knock the taper down.
Bear in mind that the tube with the dent in will have stretched and you will not be able to easily get it back to how it was. -

Having done and still doing a lot of canal boating with this group http://www.narrowboattrust.org.uk
you see all sorts of things.SORRY TO SHOUT BUT THE NEXT BIT IS IMPORTANT.
There is a very nasty disease carried in the urine of infected rats.
It is called WEIL'S disease or leptospirosis
Please have a look at this site www.leptospirosis.org
