Impossible to say from photos
Italian threads have threads that turn in the same direction for both sides so if you install too loose the whole assembly can wind itself out. Does that make sense?
You may be able to check visually the threads for this arrangement to see if it is .
Did the shop simply say wrong bracket for frame ie not italian or they dont have the tools to tap out.
Try wire brush to clean threads. -

Modern Sportive frames now come with a geometry that gives a more upright and shorter reach than the tradtional long low stretched out full blown racer position.
They are going to have a compact geometry ie with sloping up top tube towards the front rather than the old skool horizontal top tube.
You could look at Specialized Roubaix range (sportive) and compare these to the Tarmac range (race) for instance to give you an idea.
This would be one way to go unless you are fixed on a horizontal top tube. Then look at Pegoretti for the extended headtube look.
Or you go bike fit / custom as has been suggested.

Interesting. But then their classification mixes skin colour with nationality.
At least I'm now edumacated in the ways of teh po-lice.
The quote was lifted from wiki answers:
'In the bill what is an ic3 and an ic1 male and what does it mean'I guess thats the police way of subdividing the populous logical or not.

Police felt it more appropriate to give ethnic groups codes so that they didn't have issues of race
theses were
IC1 White person
IC2 Mediterranean or Hispanic person
IC3 African/Caribbean person
IC4 Indian, Nepalese, Maldivian, Sri Lankan, Bangladeshi, or any other (South) Asian person
IC5 Chinese, Japanese, or South-East Asian person
IC6 Arabic, Egyptian or Maghreb person
IC0 Origin unknown -

yet ur usename is keeping_it_steel ;)
just kidding, i think i'd go for comfort as well, so i guess nag will go on ebay untouchedYes the irony of it!
It refers to my 18 year old 531c steel frame that is a benchmark for everything else I have used since (bought it new). The VN is a killer deal at that price.
Bummer that you can't experience the Colnago ride before you let it go. -
I have ti and steel.
The VN Ti will feel slightly duller ie less feedback from the road but this translates as better road shock absorbtion.Good for longer rides to reduce that beat up feel. It may also be lighter so good for climbing on a like for like basis.
Steel / Colnago is good for the all out race experience when you feel strong and invincible.
It depends what you want out of a frame. Visually one is understated and the other is very loud.
If it were my choice it would be the ti. as I favour comfort over raw power.
