Not any more, I left home for uni five years ago and never went back. I'm in Tiptree visiting my parents at the moment though - if you see someone on an orange fixed Peugeot give me a shout!
I've not been to 53-12 but I'll check them out. The bike shop in Mark's Tey is amazing - the owner is some old dutch guy who walks around in his 1980s racing jersey all day (and slaps himself in the face when he makes a mistake).

I just dissolved an alu seatpost with caustic soda, but now I have a big plug of white crusty stuff inside the seat-tube. Water won't dissolve it, and it's quite resilient to physical attack from a metal bar - any chemists here know what it is and how to get rid of it?
Perhaps heating the tube? Presumably it won't expand as much as the steel will...

If you go to Halfords they do little touch-up kits that have a brush-on primer, colour and lacquer - they work really well. They do cost about a tenner though.
Finding a match is gonna be trial and error though - Fiat Ferrari Red isn't going to be the same as Cinelli Ferrari Red! Each manufacturer has their own standard (and those standards change over time... so 2007 Ferrari Red could be slightly different to 2008 Ferrari Red... and within those years there are also different variations based on when in the paint run the particular car/frame was painted - I used to work in a paint shop where things get pretty technical!)
Spraying a clear lacquer on your frame will lead to a lot of overspray. Instead you can spray the lacquer into the lid and use a little brush or slip of paper to apply it directly onto the paint.
The lacquer might also react with the varnish underneath, so test it first.

I bought a pair of these with the S2C hub - arrived quickly and are well built. I've been going out on a few short rides around town and I'm really impressed by them - the brake has decent modulation and getting the hang of the gearshift is pretty easy. I've got it set up as 42/22 giving 67" and 50" which is good for the rolling hills around here.
