Up at 5, left home at 5:30, 66" fixed, to G4S at Nine Elms, head wind and heavy rain, wind had changed direction so head wind home!! Wore a Rapha cape my ex gave me, doesn't warrant £180 but kept me dry. Washed bike and trapped my finger between the chain and the sprocket, that hurt!!!!! Glad I only do 2 days a week, weather looks shit all week, racing on GF. Roll on the summer.

Great commute in and home from work today, G4S in Nine Elms, 14 miles each way on 66" fixed, apart from the bellend in Twickenham in his BMW 1 series driving in the cycle lane!

So, I bought this from EBay for £120 and I wanna build it as a "super commuter" I want to build it as a 1 X 10, using a Shimano 5700 shifter, and rear mech, but using a Raceface "narrow/wide" chain ring and a RSP Mino chaingaurd, To stop chain drop, Avid BB7 160mm rotors, Mavic or Fulcrum disc brake wheels, has anyone had any problems converting Shimano to run a 1 X system? SRAM seems so expensive hence the Shimano route. Thanks.

Help! I'm going to build a "super commuter" bike based on a Ridgeback Flight 6066 alloy frame and carbon fork, I want to run a SRAM disc bike groupset, 1x11, I've looked on the internet but no-one seems to stock a complete groupset. I'm confused!!!!

Hi, I'm after a 1990s MTB, Trek, Marin, Specialized, etc 17 inch frame or thereabouts. I'm thinking about converting it to a "road" bike (fitting drop bars and STi shifters) to make a "bombproof" commuter. Is this a daft idea? I just don't want to wreck anything decent when I start a new job in the new year. All help and feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks
