Lots of people commute by bicycle and there are locking points all around campus/town.
Buses are intimidating to the novice riders, as here they practically share the same lane with cyclists and they're always pulling over and even sometimes speeding past you, just to stop right in front of you.
Sometimes pedestrians shout at you to try to make you fall off.
Here in manchester theres a bit of alleycats, some bike polo, road rides and race and also critical mass to meet other cyclists. Its a normal place, not un-friendly to bikes

yes they do sell fixed gear hubs, fixed wheels, chain, etc.
its my favourite shop as they have low prices for servicing. they do the job quickly (sometimes the same day when you get there before 11 ) . Professional and friendly staff .
they are also open **every **day from 9ish to 6pm.if you cant find a part there, the shop called GBH will have it

I'm selling my custom made Push Iron from GBH. 60cm seat tube cc and top tube (I'm 6 foot 4), finished in a really dark green that looks kind of black from a distance, with following components:
- Cut down Nitto risers (no sweep) wrapped with black Brooks tape
- Nitto Pearl stem (110mm I think)
- San Marco Concor/ 14 bike co black suede saddle - immaculate condition. No brand seatpost
- Black H son rims (front machined for brake) on gran compe hubs gatorskins with plenty of life in them.
- Sugino messenger cranks and chain ring (generic BB)
- MKS pedals with Toshi double straps
It's well loved and well used, plenty of scratches on the wheels and paint chips on the frame and forks - all cosmetic though. It rides fast and looks good, nice tight clearances.
Looking for £450. Selling because I'm moving out of town (seems less fun on country roads than in traffic) and have been spending all my time on my road bike. It's hanging up in GBH if you want to check it out, I don't have an update photo, but here's an old one that at least sows the frame and some of the components:

IMHO, I think you're not being realistic about the price mate, no offense.
The actual value of what is put together is way less than that,..., even if that's
what you've paid. - Cut down Nitto risers (no sweep) wrapped with black Brooks tape

NCP is in the city centre on one of the sidestreets opposite the BBC and before you reach the Dancehouse. In fact, precisely here http://bit.ly/bHzSWu

apologies if this has been discussed, id rather find out by your hand today, than your hand vaguely yesterday
