Sumo reluctantly gave me his EAI 19t sprocket for everyday use and there's a Dura Ace 15t on the other side for track.

I try to take a route that avoids the paint (which requires the right angle of approach and /or a little jink)

Since reading this a few months ago I've slowly started to do this too.

I did get pretty good at skidding actually! But then I geared up, and the cleats on my shoes got so worn that if I did try and do a skid I'd come unclipped.

Result = I've become very good at slowing down with my legs.

If it helps I'm probably going to go for a lower gear for everyday riding to what I currently have (50x19 instead of 52x19) so I'll only be using my brake for emergencies

No brokening will be occuring!
