I got a pretty good spec AMD XP desktop base unit (no monitor) of Ebay from £55 including a big graphics card. Then got and Eizo monitor to go with it for £100.
The auction place in SW18 is excellent for notebooks netbooks.

I was one of the first people to get this done in the UK. Had it done at Morefields, reduced rate as it was part of a study, £500 per eye I think. 15 years on no problems expect slight halo effect around street lights at night.
It hurt like hell for two weeks and then I hated the sun for a year and had to wear dark sunnies on bright days, I still wear glasses for driving to give 20/20, wonder if it was really worth it. I hear the new wavefront thing is excellent.
Will never forget the smell of my own burning eyeball like hair burning and the nurse stroking my hand as the redeye cuts away - never again, no ta.

I have a 58cm Raleigh Reynolds 653 frameset out for powder-coating (in light blue) it comes with a Chorus seat aero seatpin and stronglight headset. The frame/pin will be for sale for about £140.
My friend who is a bike mech can make up a fix/free to your spec, typically whole lot would be about £350 all in for typical components or bring your own and he will assemble it for you for about £30.

I have a winmob kaiser with tomtom on the sd card, can I resize the sd card to have an ext2 partition to try Android without destroying tomtom and everything else on the card. What size does the ext2 need to be and does Android run windows progs like Wine does as an emu?
