M520 are cheaper at merlin. Can't go wrong for 20 quid.
http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/mountain-bike-pedals/shimano-bike-pedals/shimano-m520-spd-pedal.htmlI have used spds for years and dual sided is best in town as they can take reflectors which are reqd by law for night riding and flat is best for heavy traffic. The Shimano A530 take reflecectors but you cant get them in the UK and they are ££££££££. VP are excellent pedals.
-
Look out for VP dual sided ones on ebay, flat on one side spd on the other.
They can be had for less.
Hey everyone
I'm in urgent need of some cheap-ish clipless pedals as I'm getting some shoes for the all mighty crimbo and need to choose wisely.
Also any suggestions on what shoes i should get for general riding to college and around town would also be much appreciated.
Cheers
Theo.

I want glasses for cycling to work thru Camden f...ing Town not Baywatch.
-
Thanks, not in Manc. Camden NW3, they only place to b innit.
you'll need polycarb lenses - otherwise when you give them a quick wipe down you'll scratch the lenses.
head into your local specsavers and ask t see the glazable sports goggles in the HILCO catalogue - they're not too expensive as far as sports frames go
Dont happen t ever be around manchester d'you?

contacts, used to have em, ended up with pus and all that stuff. Plus they only last one year. Still each to their own. my dad has had the same pair of hard c. lenses for about 30 years. He washes them in fairy liquid !
in my understanding, as i look for something similar, it is supposed to look much like some sunglasses, tight fit around for wind protection and all that, but with prescription lenses, no?!
for the lenses i'd go for the usual 'plastic' lenses you'd get from opticians. light and with newer nano coatings even quite scratch resistant and with build in no_fear_of_shatter.
finding a frame that is not to warped to take the rather flat_ish prescribed lenses is the hard part here and comes down to a compriomise between desired wind protection and feasibility.correct me if i'm wrong... ah and a link to your find would be cool ...
i ended up with contacts and ride with my okley shades a lot, even in normal daylight, to not look the crying/sensible part when track standing at lights plus the added bonus of having no raindrops blurring my vision in rain ... but tears ... ah whotevaah!

bollocks i didnt see this until now, my frame is already at the frame builders.
Never mind, best to get it fixed properly i guess,, he reckons the repairs will be ready this week but it will damage the paint as he has to heat up the bb shell, so now i have to decide on a new paint colour... Any suggestions??? I just cant decide.
http://velo-orange.blogspot.com/2009/07/new-threadless-bb.html
We don't have final pricing yet, but I would guess they will run around $75.
$75 means prolly £50 in the UK, you wanna spend that every time your BB is shot? Better of to pay £80 to Vaz and get a repair. Is he going repair the existing or put on a new one?

Best I could find was £65.00. for Bolle slides. These are not the ones with inserts. Plain lens, no fancy coatings.
Anyone recommend anything?
Edit
To clarify im talking bout single vision polycarbonate lenses, clear not reactolite fancy schamcy, pref with side protection and a tightish wind-proof fit. -

'My' pedals up to £133, they are pretty nice though.
