just unwrapped my latest project sent by george sportif, for the girlfriend to pop into town on and do her shopping etc,
it's a 5 speed, 26 x 1 3/8th wheeled townsend mixte, i have a feeling that she won't get on with the saddle so she'll probably end up with a nice sprung brooks, so i'll brown tape the bars and get some new gumwall tyres to match i think, it's a bit tarnished and the chrome is pitted but a bit of elbow grease should sort that! does anyone have any tips on cleaning the brake hoods? they're off- white with dark black freckling spots, if not where should i look for some new ones?

i'd go double sided on the dahon, just so much easier on junctions and tyre wise, kojaks are good, bontrager road warriors are also good, as as specialized fat boys and conti travel contacts are good, but heavier than the others

i'm trying to decide between black leather(ish) tape, black saddle and full black tyres, or new white tape, clean up the saddle and add whitewall tyres, or brown tape, brooks style saddle and gum/ tan walls
