sorry gang, bit of a question here, i've got a customer coming in tomorrow that has one of those really cheap bmx freewheels threaded onto her hub, its the kind of freewheel that doesn't have regular notches, rather, just two little holes, i need to get this off for her, anyone got any info on how to do this? scoble?

I heard gears were the new thing so I picked up this from Vaidas - thanks Ashe for the tip off.
A customer sold it to to him and it's all original - down to the pump, Dunlop tyres and the Brookes B-72 (which is dryer than a saharan teetotaler, but in good nick aside from this - I'm about to nip out to buy some proofide).
Seems to be early 60s as the B-72 wasn't fitted until 61 onwards according to Sheldon, but the dates on the paperwork are 53 and some other things from Sheldon's chart don't quite stack up, so when I've given it a wash I'll have a look at the rear hub for a date code.
I think a lot of elbow grease will be needed but it should shine up lovely.

had something come into the shop recently that looked very similar to this, sturmey with the tt pulleys, but it was fitted with a "lycett" leather saddle, absolutely perfect condition, really nice bike and the guy bought it from the local tip for £20, i was tempted to offer him £30 for it, only thing was it had no markings at all, the original badge was removed and it had no bb stamp, definitely not a raleigh though any thing similar produced?

right then new bit of fail:
me, today
walking down the street with the girlfriend, wearing jeans that are not able to hold my keys within the pockets, so keys are clipped to belt loop,
girlfriend hears jangling and turns to me to ask:
"did you want me to put your keys in my handbag or is it a fixie thing?"

hey gang, just had someone in who has had their trek 1000 road bike stolen in stratford, you literally could not miss it if you saw it! its a 63cm! brushed aluminium frame colour with a fulcrum racing five wheelset in black and red, if you do see it please let me know at the shop (the cycle studio) or if your feeling brave and its locked up somewhere around town, feel free to double lock it and again come to the shop, really great customer of mine so i'll be happy to see it returned to him, all the best guys
i work in a bike shop, we sell loads of bike thongs (that's what they're called), think about it, imagine you had over a grands worth of carbon road bike, you don't want to get corrosive sweat on your paint or any part of the carbon as corrosion can lead to failing, in addition if you've spent over a grand on a bike what's £15 for something to protect it? pretty logical when you think of it
