Interesting write-up of the way it was led. I led my first route - to Cambridge - recently and we had a more gears (including apollo's lovely whip) than what I was expecting. But I think people had a good time and rode as an ok group, though many thanks to the faster people who kept the pace down for the rest. My theory is that on mixed group rides the fast people have to take the hit otherwise like only 3 lead outs can stretch the whole group. If someone opens a ride to mixed abilities, they should in the words of Destiny's Child cater-2-U, not go out smashing it around, dropping people at the back and letting them get lost. Not cool man. For me, it's an example of how not to lead a ride.
I'm still going to go out for one of their Tuesday rides sometime though. We're all fixeh skidders at heart, right?

Chap on a Boris Bike this a.m. trying to slide up the inside of a lorry on the St Pauls one way system/roundabout heading west. I was all 'Oi! Don't undertake the lorry!' There was a big fucking sticker on the side of the lorry as well. Anyway, he held back, let the lorry pass and was sort of apologetic and sheepish. I tried to smile and give a little thumbs up as I headed past so as not to be seen as a dick about it.
I don't expect this reaction every time but I'm glad I said something and I'll continue to do so.

There's always the TNRC which is always about for rides.
Will probably be some winter Brighton rides in the next couple months, watch out for those.
I'll do another run to Cambridge sometime in late November when it's totally fucking freezing out.
MA3K sometimes does winter bridges rides or a Circle Line ride. Bring a bag to stick the booze in. You will hopefully be drunk at the end.
Hard Day in January, run by clubman. Will be fixed/singlespeed probably but it's fast and hard and cold and fun. Good ride and excellent chance to ride with talented and experienced riders.
There's always spring Sportives about, they don't get a lot of chat on the forum but someone usually puts up a little post for reference.
BHF London to Brighton. Don't do it.
Probably be a summer solstice ride (aka riding through the night to arrive for sunrise) to Avebury if someone is willing to run Skive's route there (great route).
DD will be in mid-July this coming year, nearest the full moon (probs)
Ride of the Falling Leaves is well-liked, may have just missed it this year. So like early September, Late October. That's all I have time for now. Others?

All - thanks again for coming out yesterday, I had a bloody lovely time. After watching the rain out my window all day I feel like we were especially lucky. Those lanes are just great, my favourite parts being around the Pelhams and Antsy. I've a few photos to post up tomorrow, mostly glamour shots of JakeBrown (he's so hot right now).
As always a pleasure to roll with Al, Jake, Ian and Sweats and with the rest, good putting proper faces to names.
Joe and Betty I'm sorry again about the split. Next time I'll be more specific about the pace the ride will run at. Glad you got to the pub and had a nice run to it though!

Double 26' bona fide 'spoks, full suspension and little brown dog in your Ortlieb waterproof. Big look. Not sure you're 'on here' - but then again I'm not sure where you should be
