@ketsbaia If you're in London, there's a library of saddles you can try... Not tried it myself as I'm not in London anymore but remember it being mentioned somewhere on here.

@photoben was one of the creators if I recall correctly

I have for a 10 day trip around Holland. I just rocked up to a town and started calling people which was a bit hit and miss. I think for best results, it would be best to book ahead. The hosts where generally lovely. The standard breakfast of boiled egg and dark bread did get tiresome after a while though as everyone seems to serve the same thing.

Thanks ffm and @Wouter. I'll take it to my LBS and see what they say.

I did that in reverse a couple of years ago. I don't have a specific route but I can recommend the section of http://www.viasverdes.com/mapas_en.asp going west out of Girona and the bit going into San Sebastian.
There's also an old edscoble thread that details a route through the west part of the Pryennes (going into France if I remember correctly)... -
I bought a new bike for my daughter which has 14" wheels. The bike arrived with approx 1mm wobble in both wheels. I've never dealt with small wheels before so I don't know if they run as true as 26"/700c wheels. The (online) shop is trying to fob me off with "wheels are within tolerance" response. Anyone have similar experience with wheels not being true?
And I guess as a follow up question, is it any harder to true a small wheel than true a full sized one? -
While the Trail gator/follow me seems like the better option, I have successfully secured the front wheel of my daughters bike to the rear pannier rack of my bullitt using an inner tube. The trick I've found is to get the tyre higher on the side of the rack and loop around the handlebar at least once. Oh and allow time to secure it as it is a bit of a faff. HTH

Just to counter-balance the above, I have an Alfine 11 Di2 controlled hub and it's miserable. I have to adjust it every 10/14 days (~70km) or so, otherwise gears 5 & 7 slip. In fairness, the fix is just pressing some buttons on the Di2 display unit but on a manually controlled unit I can imagine a huge headache. I don't change gears under power (though I do share the bike with my wife who might be less kind on it) and service it when required. It started happening almost immediately, after maybe 400/500km of riding. The 1000km service did nothing to help.
There's been some chat about Alfine 11 on the cargo bike thread and like the above, some people have had positive experience and some (who seem to work on cargo bikes as mechanics) have not. YMMV. -

Well, I've been told he'd rather money than a book subscription. I hate giving money and thought this would be a slightly more interesting option. It would also mean he couldn't just spend it on sweets/a whim. I'm happy for him to spend it immediately or leave it vest for awhile and see how it goes...

Sorry for the noob question but I did UTFS to no available and there's nothing in the first page to help so... I want to gift my 10yo godson some crypto (I was thinking algorand as a greener alternative to bitcoin/etherium, but I assume it doesn't matter which currency) and have cleared it with his parents who will help convert it back to £ when he wants it. My question is, has anyone done this before and have a recommendation for how I should do it and/or is there a recommendation for a provider (coinbase?). TIA

I seem to recall @amey has a rear rack on his? I'm in the process of trying to fit one using pclips and a disc brake compatible rack but the rear light gets in the way so I think a blow torch and vice are going to be required to bend the struct to an amenable angle

On the topic of composters, everytime I open my regular style compost bin in the summer, a cloud of flies emerge. Is this normal or a sign that it's Anaerobic? The flies have been know to bite (my sister-in-law) which seems weird and not at all helpful for my two year old daughter who is fasinated by the two compost bins.

I think hippy called it above. The tracker says he's doing 30km/h and now only has ~15km left so should make it with a small buffer, though the cobblestones on Road 52 below Turnu Măgurele might slow him slightly...
