Are you looking to run fixed with a disc brake aswell?

yep this seems to be the issue with running 135 fixed disc hubs, stuck to and MTB chainline and can't use track cranks :(

I'm looking to get a camera mainly for documenting artwork (paintings and small sculptures) It will be documenting for use on-line and in applications etc, not for print purposes. If I needed documentation for catalogues etc. I can get it done professionally.

So far I've been borrowing one of my friends Sigma DP2 Merrill which has been great, quality probably a bit better than I need, but it's the benchmark I've been working off so far.

I'm probably looking at getting an advanced compact or low end DSLR. The dslr will probably be more versatile in the long run but is cheap one going to be much better than a good compact?

Also, any pointers to good websites or shops for buying cameras would be great. Also, are used worth looking at or would you steer clear?

Yep figured as much about the chainline. Want to use an existing track crankset i have so that rules it out

I'm interested in getting a Cotic escapade as a fixed winter beater with the ability to run it with gears for touring. It's 135mm Spaced. Instead of getting a separate fixed rear wheel could I just get a geared disc rear wheel (10 or 11 speed freehub) bolt on a cog and flip it around for fixed?

I appreciate the aesthetics might not be great but would it work in theory? The issues i can think of are chainline + possible wrong forces on the spokes?

yeh the fork seems like a little odd concept tbh. stacks fine for me i want something nice and upright. seems like the only option that i can find where i can run it both fixed and wit gears

pretty horrendous i admit but i'm not gonna ignore the advice of bike fitter with 20+years of experience. Also the geometry on surlys are pretty backwards

reason i want a 14/15 flyer is - Good geometry for me, compact/ with a tall headtube. Full mounts for mudguards/racks etc. I'm gonna put a disk fork on it and turn it into the ultimate fixed winter commuter

I'm after a 2014/2015 genesis flyer in 50 or 52cm . frameset or full bike considered. My back can't take the stupid low headtube on my steamroller anymore

as above. really only interested in frame but would take complete bike if price is right.
