ive just built up a nice blue Dynatech frame i snagged on ebay a while back - i love it! I'm curious though, as popped in to Balfes bikes the other day and they said they were actually converting the same frame to SS for a guy at the moment! Same colour etc.
Now I'm curious who in my local area has the same frame as me :) Any E. Dulwich folk with a lovely blue Dyna-tech frame that they are converting to SS at Balfes? own up.... looks like this (shit photo - sorry............)

Nah. That's me. The guy who posted originally is some kind of jerk and a stalker. I'm Clarion everywhere except Bikeradar, where I am OGME. Not hard to verify, and quite a few folk on this forum have met & ridden with me.
I have no idea what the motivation of the tool is, but he is clearly deeply inadequate. Whatever you do, DO NOT PM any details to 'clarion' on Bikeradar.
jeez, assaulted and then you have your identity stolen. wtf?!!
good luck with this. The police 'considering whether to arrest' is un-fucking-believable.

That was fun! Defs keen on doing it again. Just need to get some drops and learn how to ride with a 'medium sized dog space'. Thanks for the induction RPM. I will be back.
I am not a fan of this dog sized space. Especially when it is more like the size of a small gerbil.
The universe conspires to make it impossible for me to attend anything, ever. And when I do, it rains. Women's sessions look good. OH WELL (sad face)

Drummond Gate is on the North side of the river, not the location of the google link from Oliver and Sem. Drummond Gate also has a left filter from Vauxhall Br. Rd. but I am not sure exactly where the crash happened and which way the cyclist and lorry were intending to go.
Yeah not where it happened at all - I was just pointing out that the entire stretch of road from there all the way to the station is pretty insane at the best of times.
Jemjah - that is interesting! Wise choice I reckon, and glad you came out alive xx
For all we know, the paper were told the cyclist did collide with the lorry, and perhaps he actually did. But for the moment it seems representative of the 'car culture' language which lays blame where it is perhaps not due.

It is an interesting read, and certainly raises a few questions. However, he claims that Lance is only 5'5" though when talking about how athletes like to be vague about their weight data. There is no way Lance is 5'5" which makes you think he might have got him confused with someone else.
maybe this guy?

classic case of short man syndrome right there.

also....
*
'Police were called at around 11.30am to reports that** a cyclist had collided with a lorry *at the junction of Vauxhall Bridge Road and Drummond Gate.'a cyclist collided with a lorry? Or the lorry collided with the cyclist? Again, a classic case of poor journalism...........no facts......all substantiated, and if at a junction, whether the cyclist WAS along the left of the vehicle or not - a lorry turning left onto a cyclist in the wrong position is still technically a lorry colliding with a cyclist. Unless he came flying along the road straight into the back / side of the lorry? Still - not enough information to justify this statement.
Getting really weary of this.
Ride safe folks.

This morning on Millbank heading towards Westminster, dude on a black geared trek bike with a rack and bag hanging of, going at normal speed (i.e. same speed as the other commuters), wearing what looked like full motocross body armour and normal cycle helmet.
Any one see this guy? I suppressed a smile as I passed him.
you must have admirable self control. or a very stiff face.

that is horrific.
this is my daily route and I would have been riding that way in to work although have started taking the first right hand turn possible off Vauxhall Bridge Rd to go around the houses as this stretch of road is just awful.
I was riding down there, but would have been earlier - around 8.35 am on saturday - so didn't see anything. Buses absolutely bomb it there though, and as you go over the bridge cars regularly run the lights and rush through the yellow box onto the bridge as the bus lane / cyclists make their way onto the bridge here:
Nothing in the report suggests he was actually creeping up the left of the vehicle and cycle training is certainly necessary but he may well have been in front of the lorry and not seen by the driver for all we know. I had a fight with a man who was weaving to and from the curb precariously in his car on that very stretch last week. At the lights I knocked on his window to find him looking at photographs on his camera - and he laughed in my face and wouldn't roll his window down.
Lets not assume the cyclist was at fault.
Condolences to family and friends. There are no words for these tragedies :(
I hope some more information comes to light.

Some dude got stabbed apparently, I guess you saw them hunting for the weapon.
And I'm guessing the bush is the one by the bmx track / redgrar football pitch?I'm working above South Lambeth Road at the moment, which like Brixton Tesco's has become a fixei skidda artery.
Ah. Actually the bush in question was to the right just inside the gate on Brixton Water lane. Anyhoo. I think I spot you on your polo bike at peckham rye on a regular basis by the way....

[QUOTE=snowy_again;1418585]Odd, there's been a bloke documenting some of the buildings on Railton Road recently, but I'm not sure whether he's been wearing a spacesuit or not!
yeah was a definite case of 'cordoned off road, police tape, and forensics man' type shit going down.
Also, spotted today a pregnant lady buying smack in a bush in brockwell park. NICE.

Ha, also you have just managed to dispel a myth for me!
I always thought that
a) it was possible to swallow your tongue
b) this can be irreversibleProbably something they say to scare kids, but google tells me it is impossible and that when people have seizures etc sticking spoons in their mouths etc can be counter-productive and damage the throat / tongue - which they won't swallow anyway?
Also....the website I found about this said 'when a person is actively dying....'
actively dying?
how does one actively die?! As oppose to like, passively dying?ok i'm off to enjoy this sun - glad you got your bike back.

That's a fantastic story!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd love to be a fly on the wall when friends and loved ones ask: 'What happened?'
and he has to say, "I'm a thieving nonce"This story makes me feel good.
Get a job you prick. Buy your own bike.
Karma is a bitch.
Great story! It's a harsh lesson for that man but a lesson all the same.

The sister of Anthony Maynard, killed whilst out on a club ride in 2008, dropped some leaflets into the store yesterday. I said I would post the link up for this sportive - only £20 to register. She was still clearly devastated, and was bravely considering buying a new bicycle now...two years on. I'd quite like to sell her one and do the ride with her.
Anyone else interested?

just had a nice chat with a check-shirt ipod listening ss rider in bishopsgate.
we nattered about the police and the perils of pedestrians.
just saw the police are putting notices on bikes locked in bishopsgate reading
'this bicycle is locked to street furniture and is an obstacle to pedestrians and will be removed within 24 hours.'ok firstly, street furniture? since when can you sit on or eat your dinner at a lampost? (insert funny image here)
nice to see the swines have their priorities straight as usual!
mr. check shirt - nice to meet you, guessing there is a chance you are on here?
-
looked like this although im fairly sure some custom forks or something had been put on. either way, nice bike to have nicked off you :(

it is very unique - hopefully it will turn up. If it is any consolation I posted my friends distinctive and stolen bike here last november and it turned up last week - someone picked it up at a market and googled the name of the bike and it lead to here.
There is hope for us all :D
Will keep eyes peeled.
