there are definatly some brake levers but there pretty shitty and i think plastic but if you want them you can definatly come get them although you have to take everything what ever u don't want give away or bin.

I have a bag of bits in my shed, it is from a 90s town bike it mainly contains brake parts and a few gear parts think a rear derailer etc

It had just been for a service at ocw (oxford) but usually there quite good. And I think its a fairly new cable. but i'll check that its not loose.

I know very little about brakes and bikes in general, so bear with me if this is obvious, I was ridding my bike and grabbed the front brake quite violently and it suddenly gave way, I assumed the brake cable had snapped but it seemed fine so I tightened it which half fixed the problem, the brake now works but the lever is very lose and doesn't feel quite right... any ideas to what wrong and how I can fix it?

umm not sure i would need to be able to buy another pair of brakes with the cash, so how much are you willing to pay?

i think i might have a pair however i don't have replacement brakes os ideally i would like to swap them for a pair. The brakes say type 730 on them but the brake levers only say weinmann on them i'm afraid i can't show you a picture as have no camera. they have a several scratches on both levers and brakes.

oh ok thanks i'll just leave them there only cosmetic. how much roughly would a repaint cost though and would i lose all vinyls cant hey be easily replaced? its a vindec ventura not sure of age probably 70s or 80s?

This is slightly off topic but being new to the site i can't create a thread personally. i recently bought a old racer however there are a few scuff marks and scratches on the frame is there anyway to get rid of these without completly repainting or dipcoating the frame?
