I had a pair of these (or very similar) bought off the 'bay, they kept my bottles in on Flanders and roubaix, when all around we're losing theirs.

I'll mention it, he's pretty keen on an Italian but i'll espouse it's merits.

I have a couple of friends doing the lovely Italian ride and they need a compliant bike.They have asked me to help find a bike.
You probably know pre '87 ish steel frame, down tube shifters, steel,I know some other stuff is needed , but it can be changed.
They would prefer italian Colnago, pinarello,Ciocc, Tommasini etc, but would consider others, they need to be in good condition and there's a reasonably healthy budget for the right bike.please pm me if you have a suitable bike or know one for sale.

Whereas flanders is yearly i can see why it's only every 2 years, i think it takes that long for the memory to fade.

I'd have to agree about the wrist pain , up to 100 miles it was tolerable a then the fun factor went a bit.Can't imagine the panic my brain would have picking a route across the cobbles in the wet.
The iconic showers were fab, i went for big maggy's as there was a bit of a queue of Italians for moser's.
