i just got back from doing the 2012 sportive, the 210 km which ends in the velodrome.. 55km of pave.
Any one else do it?
A great event, and we were lucky with the weather.
I was shocked to see a large chap going over the pave on a set of rev x spinergy 4 spokes... chapeau
Chapeau to Nick and co for putting together a great afternoon and what a great venue.
Some excellent gear and friendly folk.. I was driving which was a shame as the beer looked so good
The hills are steep and plentiful and if your'e not not going up your'e going down, i would think carefully about gearing or be prepared for some walking.
the vendor says that the respray has obscured the frame number , which is a shame, and i don't know enough to be sure, i can't see any pantographed parts of the frame, i think the 90's remakes were de rosa panto'd , if this was an early one it would be hen's teeth.
i stayed at the waldyk hotel, really friendly and great value, fab breakfast. And Eddy Merckx has slept there.
If you get a chance visit the half moon brewery food is fab value.. 16 euros 3 courses, and great beer
