You fixed that bike yet?
You're kidding - I slept for England only waking up to shove a pizza and a beer into my mouth after the ride yesteray - and barely managed to drag myself into work this am!
Alternatively, I might bring new stem and a tools and beg for assistance :-).
Do it - tempted to do same with road bike

I'd planned to rely on road markings and other cyclists; .
The actual route on the day was different to the one posted - so best to have not relied on the Garmin.
Obviously, you needed to be looking at the road markings...
I'm loving the thought of pottling along listening to Radio 4 - mini radio definitely in my list of stuff-to-take on hte next one. That and a multi-tool.

Holy fuck; that's gonna hurt plenty.
Yes, yesterday's hills hurt, although I made it up Box, Leith and almost all of Whitedown...ok more like half of Whitedown - that's a serious bastard of a hill.
I've done something to my bike - going to have a go a fixing it myself but if need to take it into the shop, most likely won't be riding again this week.
If bike fixed - definitely up for a ride. Need to get some miles in and get my speed up!

Yep, Damo spotted me turning round and heading to Dorking having crawled the previous 5miles or so wondering what the hell the intermittent grinding noise and shudder was (something strange going on with the back wheel which seemed to be being pulled out of line for reasons I still haven't fathomed).
Set off with the rollas. Remembered I'm not as fast as them, esp if there's bumps, so dropped to my own pace. Enjoyed pootling along for the first 50 miles or so, despite my legs reminding me loud and
clear that they weren't used to such long rides.
Pushed on and upwards at Leith; started noticing weird stuff happening with bike; had nothing left for Whitedown (ffs, like I need that at 60 miles); got off; walked a bit; got back on; realised bike noise wasn't going away; saw sign to dorking; went to dorking (so slowly that if the wheel fell off, it wouldn't hurt too much); got home; fell asleep!
