Has anyone tried a Columbus futura SL fork? It says 28c max, just wondering if anyone has tried a 32?

Ultimately looking for a carbon, rim brake, 1 1/8 straight steerer fork with clearance for a 32 that isn’t the silly expensive whisky.

Ribmo folding roll well and are pretty bomb proof.

Well, the majority of disc carbon forks are now tapered, so that. Also, aren’t inch forks flexier? Would be fine if you only ever planned to run the original fork, but who’s going to drop close to a grand on someone else’s dream frame with that limiting factor when they could spend a bit more and have their own dream frame? What’s the benefit on an inch fork? Just seems like a bizarre choice. I think it’s probably the reason it hasn’t sold.

That’s super tasty, although shame about the 1” head tube, I expect that narrows the market for the frame considerably.

Generally seemed to be a prevailing tail wind if you’re heading south though, well I’ve had that twice, @laner allegedly has head wind all the way.

Get 7700/7800 brakes, they work so much better and don’t look out of place.

I think we did it in 9 or 10 days. It was quite some time ago.

We did St Malo to San Sebastián brakeless track packing back in the day, first 2-3 days undulating then pretty much flat all the way down the west coast till you get to the border. Great part of the world for cycling, decent roads and plenty of campsites/accommodation all the way down.

7400 with STI actually works really well, maybe search out a nice 90s steel frame (Armstrong era Merckx?), move the bits onto that, and hang the KG196 above the fireplace before it kills you?

If you replace the pads without cleaning the rotors then the pads will just recontaminate.

I had a similar issue with a hope brake a while ago that was suggested could be down to a seal deteriorating.
