Good luck riding a bike setup like that up hill. I would choose single speed for that sort of bike setup every time as riding up hills and any distance is not what it is made for. You are thinking of an XC bike I think...

I have gears on my jump bike, as I normally raise the saddle and ride it to the jumps/track. When racing, at times it has been useful having gears, I only ever use 2, one for start and sometimes shift up at bottom of start hill. Riding any distance on it at all is ridiculously hard work, but quicker than pushing it.

Context Ashe, substitute the word pharmacy for cycle shop and I doubt that you would be quite so magnanimous… The guy is putting together bikes that have the very real possibility of endangering the purchasers well-being, it's not like his selling dodgy t-shirts.

That's why he should stop trading until he gets qualified and I can't rationalise your defence of his right to trade, would you afford the same slack attitude to a self-employed car mechanic that indulged in the same practices [either through stupidity or a desire to make a quick buck]?

I don't buy into your indulgence of his foolishness by using his self-employment as some kind of 'get out of jail free card'. I'm self employed and if I didn't deliver the final product to my client with due care and diligence then I would have ceased trading many years ago

cheers guys. BlueQuinn what you say is true, I am going to have to be very careful. Have ridden big bikes in the past but never regularly on the road. It's at the forefront of my mind to be a safe driver, I almost killed myself when I was 17 on a scooter. basically went through a car window and ended up with 70ish stitches on my throat amongst other injuries. Doc said I was less than a millimeter from my jugular.

so yeah, I will be careful, and I guess a note to my fellow inexperienced riders, doesn't matter how fast or how slow your machine is, I almost killed myself on a 50cc at 20mph. Play safe!

I done my theory a couple of weeks ago. I proabably did between 20 and 30 mock tests altogether, was doing them in about 10 minutes in the end. Just do them over and over and over and the answers become 2nd nature. had been averaging 47 on mock tests, then the morning of the test got a 43! panicked and spent an hour cramming on stopping distances... were blagging my head a bit. did what i could, went into the test nervous. know how many questions came up on it? nada.

did my mod 1 on tuesday and my mod 2 yesterday, picked up the 650 last night. muahahaha is all i can say! No more crawling up the dual carriageway at 55!

Lots of chrome plated frame have a copper layer underneath.
This is just a lightweight chrome plated frame (chrome stripped).
Lot to polish though, to avoid the frame turns green.

It could be pretty cool if the bike turned green in places.

Passed my motorcycle mod 1 tues morning, got mod 2 at 8am and can't fcuking sleep cos i'm so nervous/excited? so annoying.

I was looking at the spec and thinking it must come in pretty light, looks like a good choice/spec for daily duties. carbon fork suprised me too.

apologies if this is unreasonable - but I'm intrigued. what were the problems with the bike...? £230 is many dollar.
