Thanks @facsimile @Josh @cake @Johnnyw75 I'm over the moon with it. Rides as well as it looks.
Yes snapped up off here from @YoYoYo and built with a mix of surplus garage stock and some new treats. The red thing was pure coincidence, not judgement as I had a "spare" CK BB in the man drawer (as you do) and the hubs have been switched from another bike as the hope hubs were the easiest to convert from thro to QR. And the mechanic in the bike shop that built it up for me had the chainring knocking about from his own personal surplus stock and did me a good deal on it. No way I'd have bought the red one otherwise but actually now it's all together I think it looks the nuts :)

@madman wins the weekend ride thread.

Collected the frame from my brother in law yesterday @YoYoYo Very pleased with it. Cheers!! Looking forward to putting it together now.

How do you know it was bought for £425? It is lovely and have been watching it since it first popped up on eBay, but yeah, would feel pretty annoyed at paying £999, let alone £1299 if the seller had just acquired it at £425. I'm commercially aware enough to know that almost everything we buy has lots of people in supply chains all making a margin, but this sorta hike does feel optimistic (if being kind) and a little rude (if being honest).

Thank you @YoYoYo and @skinnywheels It is a beaut and will be missed. Looks like it might have a new home pending a meet up and test ride.

Not sure how many of you on here will know Will, but he's a genuine good guy, devoted family man, dad of 2 and a very keen cyclist, road and CX mainly. Loves life and wine and chooses to follow his love by working in a (nice) off licence so is far from a wealthy man. Was knocked off his bike whilst on a family holiday in Spain last week and is in a critical but stable condition. If he recovers, and it is an if at this stage, it is expected to be a slow recovery, so a friend has created the below to allow his family to be able to remain close by. The generosity of strangers is very touching and a good thing to come out of a very bad situation. GWS WNC:

Thanks @Jingle_Jangle , I like and enjoy the forum and have had a few bargains on here over the years, so I like to share the love and sell my gear at "mates rates". The Record wheels have sold btw. Sad to see them go, but rather someone was enjoying them. Think I'll keep the Chorus ones, just coz, even if they sit redundant in the garage for a while.
-
OK, update:
I have a queue of 4 on the Record wheels, so consider those sold. The Chorus wheels are also "dibs" so that person has first refusal, but if you fancy them still let me know and I'll let you know if the first person drops out.
Rival 53/39 chainrings sold. 29er fork and wheels provisionally sold, pending a steerer tube measurement. A couple of PMs on the saddle, so safe to assume one of the interested parties will have it, so almost certainly sold too. Interest in both stems, but nothing firmed up yet.
Hope that clarifies things. Thanks for the interest one and all.

Yep 35mm tubeless. Another bargain from my mechanic friend. Only ridden it once so far, a lumpy 70 mile road ride, and they were fantastic on the broken back lanes of Kent and Sussex at a little under 50psi. Looking forward to trying them off road next time out.
