Cool. Thanks @rob_g_clarkson and @GoatandTricycle
Sounds like I'll be well looked after and up and running again soon.

What was wrong with your RD?
Mine sometimes "goes to sleep" for want of a better word. Just doesn't shift when requested. The green light flashes so it's recognising an input from the shifters but it does precisely nowt. Lasts about 30s (might be less but seems like ages at the time), then comes back to life. When it wakes up again it always shifts down a cog, regardless of the click storm I've given it whilst asleep. Then it works fine again. Until the next time.
Sound familiar? They've requested it back. Faff!

Great first carp! I'm not exactly an expert, but would say it's about 7lb. Got reluctantly roped into taking my lad fishing a few years ago. I quickly got totally "hooked" [excuse the pun] on carp fishing too. He lost interest after a few blank sessions (that's yoof for you) so now I've lost my excuse/permission from the missus for days on the bank. :(

Yeah S1 Top Boy is all new. Brilliant. I thought the same as you at first, but glad I double checked by clicking on the first episode, it was only then I realised it was new and not the original terrestrial stuff from a few years ago.
I don't like the word binge but I pretty much watched the whole thing back to back. Enjoy.

Less than a year old. Bought for my son who was 5'9" and 13 years old at the time. A year later and he's over 6' and has grown out of this! Flaming kids...
Anyway my Digby of a boy is someone else's gain. This has an rrp of £2.5k, I haggled well to get it for £2.0k and will sell for £1200. I've watched a few on ebay recently all 3 of which have sold between £1600 and £1699.
It's a used bike and shows signs of use. It's not had excessive use in the year we've owned it (mainly as my lad is a lazy sod and is very reluctant to ride if he has to pedal up hills) but it has been used on a few weekend trips to BPW and a week in Morzine.
If you're looking for concours condition then look elsewhere. If you want a really capable bike in good working order that'll tackle just about any type of riding at a great price then talk to me :o)
I chose this as it has full shimano brakes and gears (apart from the raceface chainset) SLX with an XT mech. 150mm of Fox suspension both ends.
I bought a Specialized chain guide for it from new as its 1x. Also swapped the stock stem for a 35mm dia stubby sixpack stem and the bars for some bontrager bars. The grips are upgraded to ODI lock on ruffians.
The dropper works a treat. I recently had it completely recabled by my LBS. They also gave it a gear service whilst it was in.
The frame has quite a lot of scratches from where the lad wears knee pads. Mainly on the top tube but not confined to there. See pics. There's a tiny nick in one of the stanchions, but it doesn't affect the performance of the fork at all. There's a ding in one side of the rear rim but it's been like that ages and doesn't leak (the tyres are set up tubeless). The tyres are the excellent Butcher and Purgatory grid tubeless, both in 27.5x2.6". These are the originals and you'll see have very little wear.
Give me a pm if interested. Price is for pick up from me (between Tonbridge and Maidstone). Pedals and mudguard are "model's own" and not included.
Thanks.

Great rides @peter_v and @veganjoseph great write up too. I've ridden over the Pont de Normandie twice on 2 separate touring trips. It's a bit scary yes, but quite exciting coming down the other side.

I wanted to understand the facts behind the Raab/BJ claims that delaying Brexit will cost the UK £1 billion a month (as I suspect we're going to hear it quite a lot over the coming weeks).
https://fullfact.org/europe/brexit-extension-1-billion/
So as I suspected its spin and not entirely as clear cut as their (unchallenged) claims would have you believe. Firstly we'd get about 1/4 back in EU subsidies and secondly if they got what they claimed they're using the no deal threat to get (a deal) then we'd still have to pay the same amount anyway as part of the divorce arrangement. Feels a lot like a Cummings ploy that if repeated often enough it will get them the election result they want (£350m a week anyone?)
Also call me a cynic but did anyone else notice that the deluge of (angry looking) immigrant news stories at the time of the referendum and then again at the 2017 GE suddenly ceased to exist as soon as the votes were cast? And look at what appeared on the news feed on my phone this evening... Any coincidence with a GE clearly looming?
