I went to the London Film Festival on Saturday. Yearly tradition that a mate picks a film at random and I just turn up and go in cold. This year we did a double.
1st: Eat the Night: a film about the impending end of a much-loved MMORPG. From the perspective of a younger sister obsessed with the game and her older brother. It's a really touching film and funny too.
2nd: Bionico's Bachata: This was a fever dream, just watch it and don't read about it too much. It was a wild ride.

I went to my local film society for a screening last night, That They May Face the Rising Sun, a proper gem of a slow burn in the genre of "not much happens but people learn something."

I think it's done purposefully to chase viewing figures and cash, like with twin films (Deep impact vs Armageddon / Bugs Life vs Antz / Capote vs Infamous).
