In some frames of reference yes, but I got the impression that at the moment they saw being sent as reactive to help people who need it.
There's also mountains of evidence that some soldiers who have been in the middle east over the last 20 years feel like it was a pointless war and a hopeless situation.
And in a few years with some reflection the soldier's minds might change from how they feel today.

Yeah I agree with what you have said. I'm only really replying to myself because I didn't articulate it at all previously but there's a lot of nurture/conditioning/selection that goes into a para to make them want "to get stuck in". There will be exemptions to my understanding of the norm of course.
Edit to add that life in a high readiness regiment is more nuanced than I would have expected.

I haven't seen the home report but I've kept track of similar places to ours and think it's probably right ball park maybe £15-20k more? It's quite a rare thing, there was a mews house 18 months ago which was bigger but needed a lot more work and sold for £780k.
I would probably be ok paying £720k for it, in the knowledge that in the last 2 years there haven't been many places like it, close to town, south facing garden, garage, options for a nice extension.

@Dammit this is just round the corner from us. Not too big with a south facing garden and garage. Not too far from middle of town. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/111975926?utm_campaign=property-details&utm_content=buying&utm_medium=sharing&utm_source=copytoclipboard#/&channel=RES_BUY

No nothing, there was some stuff which was just starting out when I was there that hasn't made it out yet. Most projects have been released now, ebike was still not at finished production stage at that point. There was quite a lot of work around titanium manufacturing which feels like it probably isn't finished either.
I took a osprey packable rucksack and used it loads (have carried it on the races I've done and never used it)
