I would like to build up a sturdy set of 28" wheels for my bike. I am not really that much of trick biker, but I would like them to be able to take a little bit of a pounding, meaning some jumps and maybe even taking them of the paved roads...

additionally I am fairly fat for a biker, so something strong is needed.

What kind of rims can you recommend? and what kind of hubs? spoke count? Ideally it would be in the mid range concerning price, since the bike may be left unattended at times, and I don't really need something bling t show off.

any help is appreciated...

so this is where I am at right now! next up are changes to the pedals including velcro straps, a new saddle, and somwhere down the line some new wheels..

I dig the stem, but don't yet know about the bars. Rides supernice though...

If I ever plan on changing the fork on my BMW Gangsta frame and don't want to change geometry too much, what do I have to consider when looking for a new/different fork. I am aware about steerer length, but that is the obvious...

Anything else? Rake? If yes, how do I do that? Please try to keep it simple so that I have a chance to understand... ;)
