On another note. Is Guinness vegan now?
this could be considered a bit of a gray area.. they do use a fish based product called isinglass to help remove yeast from the beer. theoretically none of this should reach the final product, but on the other hand, it's likely that some of it does. to some, it's shame enough that they use isinglass at all, to others, it's no different from sharing a deep fryer with a chicken mcnugget... "Extra Stout" does not use isinglass. and of course belgian and german beer is all vegan- it's the LAW!

looks like it will be in may or june now, just waiting a few weeks to get a feel for the spring/summer polo schedule before sending in the paper work. does the spring I BIKE MCR have dates yet?
p.s. the LSF guys have possible indoor space in february for a day of tricks + stuff, and there may be the potential to setup some sort of court there as well for some throw-ins or a small throw-in tourney

finally made it home on the epic land - sea - land - sea - land - land journey. had a great time, albeit being the coldest i've been since leaving canadia.
special thanks out to teammates aiden + robin, organizers taka + pierski, london connections bianca + tom, and most of all my host raul.
great to see you again: em, robb, agata, adam & and pleasure to meet new mallet-holders.
laugh of the weekend was being awarded 'most british team'. maybe londoners need to spend less time practicing polo and more time practicing being british. i think if i was on luis' team we could have made a run for 'most french team'.

i can't recommend Veganomicon y Isa Chandra highly enough. The recipes are complex enough that they really stand out from typical vegan fare, but simple enough that they can be cooked by anyone. it's the closest thing vegan cooking has to a Professional Chef or Larousse Gastronomique. for a 3 course a typical vegan dinner would probably be a raw dish, a starchy/proteiny main, and a dessert... julienne vegetable salads are infinitely more tasty and impressive than "green" salads, main courses based on pasta/rice/cous cous are always satisfying, and dessert, well depends on your lady but chocolate cake or fruit pies are easy to do well vegan.
