Saw this on the Guardian sports blog, not sure where to put it. Funny how little's changed...

I use http://blacknight.com/, no complaints. The native email client is a bit pants, but we just set up Gmail addresses using the domain.

I'd ordered a Deda Black Cross fork from Fawkes Cycles, this one:

and the model they actually sent me is this one:
Which is obviously pretty different and not as appealing. The shop insists that the one they've sent me is the updated version, but the Deda website makes it look like the one I was after is the current offering. http://www.dedacciai.com/website/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=67&lang=en
I'll return the one I've currently got, but does anyone know a supplier for the one I'm after? Or an equally priced and also stylish carbon canti fork?
e: sorry for big pictures, how do I make them smaller?

Things I learned on the commute this morning:
- Big pebbly gravel fallen off a lorry can give 28c tyres a pinch flat.
- Old dudes on Moultons are nice and offer tools (I only needed a pump though!)
- There's a really good little public tool set and standing pump on the Goldsmiths campus, just out of sight from the Lewisham Way, up Dixon Road.
- It was really cold, so it's lucky I had to ride fast to make up time.

Looks like the plan's much larger than that: https://www.london.gov.uk/press-releases/mayoral/mayor-calls-for-new-road-improvement-measures

Last night I dismantled the phone and took out the motherboard, soaked the power switch in isopropyl alcohol and operated it til it clicked properly, let it dry, dusted the whole thing and reassembled - and it still didn't work.
So I hit it on the table a few times, aiming for the back panel between the camera lens and the power button, then plugged in the charger and mashed the power button like I was playing Metal Gear Solid*, for about 3 minutes. This was successful! I'm writing this reply on my N5. I can only think that it was a combination of the cleaning and bashing that did it...
*The bit where Snake needs to survive torture. Both of these steps are proposed as solutions by commenters on various threads on android product forums.

Right, so my Nexus 5 (running latest marshmallow) has gone into a boot loop - it doesn't come on without the power cable attached, and when the cable's in it boots as far as the Google screen (first screen) and then crashes. If I try to get into the root menu by pressing Vol- and Power it crashes from there before I can select any options.
My suspicion is that the power switch on the motherboard is stuck, so I'm going to dismantle it and take a look when I'm home from work, but in the meantime does anyone have any suggestions? At this point I'm just keen to be able to recover my recent photos etc that hadn't backed up yet.

Have you tried https://www.codecademy.com/ ? Might be a bit basic at first if you already know what you're doing with the other languages, but there's loads of practical tutorials and it's all free.

I've been having roaming internet problems on my Android 6.0 Nexus 5 for a few weeks. I just updated Android to 6.1 and I got a text message from 3 (from phone number 2549) saying that they couldn't automatically set my phone for internet and picture messaging, and I should go to http://www.three.co.uk/setup and follow instructions.
The instructions are to change the MMS proxy from mms.three.co.uk to 217.171.129.2. I did a whois on that IP address, and it looks like it's legitimately Three.
Will report if it makes any difference...
EDIT: This didn't work at all. But these instructions seem better: http://www.geeksquad.co.uk/articles/three-apn-settings

Cheers, good advice. Though I'm not sure if we've got enough time to fit in another day or so to go round the east side of the national park, especially since getting to CR7 and swinging back west to Glasgow would add ~100k and three climbs over 200m... we're going to get to Crianlarich and then see if we're up for it.
-
I'm doing this route from Fort William - Oban - Crianlarich - Glasgow in the middle of August: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/9526005
The only part I really don't like the look of is the A85 from Dalmally to Tyndrum, just because I can imagine crawling up a huge hill with traffic following. We're on road bikes. Does anyone know if it's super busy?

I just followed an eBay link upthread - the auction was finished and it gave me this as the alternative/similar item for sale: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bike-tandem-tandem-bike-/331852521600?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
Permanent uphill frankentandem, I guess?
