I bought someone else's custom Waltly Hardtail MTB and it's great but the geo is weird. I find the front end drifts around a bit on steep ascents. Is this technique or is a 120mm fork too long?

Edit: I'm using a 50mm stem and flatish risers.

I'm looking at doing a bikepacking trip in October up in Kielder. Any must do's aside from the kielder forest Road and the Penine way section south of Blakehopeburnhaugh? Looking to ride in from Haltwhistle via KFR then do a loop from kielder then ride back to Haltwhistle via Kershope.

Any #insight much appreciated.

I'm looking on behalf of a friend for a starter touring bike around £250max. Something that all being well can be upgraded as his appetite and budget grows. He's 6ft2 and prefers the idea of flat bars as opposed to drops.

What's worth searching for in the Internet classifieds at this price point?

I'm looking on behalf of a friend (6ft2) who is after a bike that will get him back into cycling, specifically touring. He has ambitions to cycle across Europe at some point later next year.

Current budget is £250 max to dip his toe back in, ideally a half decent frame that can then be upgraded accordingly should things go well. Also something that accepts the standards that can be easily repaired/worked on should things go wrong further East.

My boss is involved with a UK charity that raises funds for a school in Bosnia that was badly affected by the war. One of the fundraising events is a bike ride from Sarajevo to the school, it is about 100miles and is well participated.

He wishes to increase the scope of the ride by doing it from the UK to Sarajevo. Where does he start in planing routes, support, insurance, logistics etc. Also potential sponsorship in donating the bikes that will be ridden from the UK and donated once out there....
