My personal approach to selling stuff here is that, if i don't have time to respond quickly, or post in reasonable time, etc then i wait until i can. I'm no trader, but like to think i would apply the same approach if i were.
I agree, it is frustrating when people have time to advertise things (and in some cases even take your money) and yet not respond, or even communicate what might be considered a less than favourable turnaround time for a transaction (for whatever reason) But this is no CRC/Wiggle/etc operation, so human error and mistakes are more likely to occur.
The mans life is cycling, you'll not meet many more passionate about that, BUT he is old school, and I guess that can be a bit hit and miss at times. I've had nothing but easy dealings with Hilary (visits/postage/communications) friends have had some minor issues, but they have been amicably resolved. I must admit I havent had much to do with him since his website took off and he frequents here less, and seems like more problems have occured in that time.
My advice, If you can, go and pay Hilary a visit (either at home* or a jumble) he is most welcoming and a truly remarkable wealth of knowledge and parts.
It's also worth mentioning that in the past he has happily held parts/frames for me with/out a holding deposit until i could tie in a visit, which suggests anything but a rip off merchant in my eyes.*Perhaps an easier option for me as regularly travel from south west to London.

That's a beast, needs a "10 Gold" on that Toptube, but what is that poking out from the stem face plate/bars? Thomson Elite, Easton Track bars and.....?
i prefer the more minimal logos
Agreed, Tho' would've been nice to see it the other way round, with the removal of that big fugly white cervelo and others left...

My Enigma Etape in winter guise on the hill in N. Cornwall that convinced me I wanted a triple (it was difficult crossing the road to take the photo) and now ready for the summer with the triple (best thing I ever did)
My neck of the woods, don't recognise the hill, but DO recognise the need for a triple every now and then ;)

Thought I'd bump this thread with my recent Ti acquisitions,
The burls got a new stem and poked the post off the Merlin,

The Merlin got the spacers, well the 2 that came with above stem,

By any chance have any of you Ti lovers got any spare spacers? I need 2 5mm's and a 10mm for the burls. Moots ideally, or a suggestion for an alternative that are the same width and readily available?

I really like my EC90sl's
But having wound ups on both bikes can be cool, just ask Toby dAnd B if you want to sell the Enve seatpost... :)
The EC90SL's are indeed a sweet fork and the Burls is spending more time on road than track, so don't mind the extra rake.
As for the Enve post, i must confess it is one of the only bits that i have actually bought new, other than the BB and finishing kit.....never say never, but it's a keeper for now. You'll be first to know otherwise.
They refused to. So I bought the drilled version and put a presta valve with a bullet cap on the end through the hole.
Wound Up Sods!
Sound like a good solution, got a pic? -
-
-
@pistoffski - For those pics^^^^, I literally pulled the Moots inline post out of the Merlin, and put into the burls, note different saddle and didn't fiddle with position as I wanted to get out and try it out.
And yes, to all the rest (wound ups, ti gubbins, etc) which is pretty much where the Merlin is.
It's just gonna take time, as it's all so bloody expensive and most of what you see is secondhand. Plus, I've run out of swapsies and condensed the bike collection, so it'll be little and less often now :( -
^^^^^That top image of the 3 (post 72) has my Moots Ti seatpost off the Merlin. Here's a couple more pics with it on,

I can't decide which I prefer, aesthetically speaking.
The ride between swapping stems was notably different, the Enve and moots seatpost is not so distinguishable, for me atm. Ooo, check me, Enve, or moots, hard life ;)As for the fork, it's a bit hard to say with much certainty as ive just started riding Titanium. I cant compare on this frame as I've not had anything else on it yet. The only frame/fork combo that I can compare the Easton with, was with a wound up fork on the Taylor. the wound up was stiffer, but then the rake was 10mm'ish less. I may be able to tell you more in a week, or so as I may get to try a different fork in the burls.

No, me neither, but perhaps that removes any element of doubt then, doesn't it? Who knows what people may, or may not think. Can't say at time of writing (and not re-re-reading before posting) I was giving it any more thought than to offer a positive and pretty general character reference from my own personal experience, s'all.
