quoting from memory (v. bad) from Cycling Weekly about 5 years ago:
Q) Should I be shaving my legs?
A) This is a perenial problem, to shave or not, and more to the point, if you shave, where do you stop? If you shave all your legs you can end up looking like some kind of Thai Ladyboy, or if you just shave below where your shorts end, when you take them off it might look like you're wearing hairy shorts! -

That was a fun ride indeed. Will unfortunately miss the next two but still need to get some miles in before Dunwich Dynamo so i'll join some other rides.
Got some snaps here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tobycane/
Nice photos. What happened to photo No. 17400001? It looks like the end of the roll of 35mm film

great photos guys, especially Spybot. Had a really fun ride today (woops, yesterday now). Just woke up from an an-scheduled sleep on the sofa.
*Highlights: *
the weather
only about 3-4 punctures (not too many considering the amount of riders)
the company
the scenery
fish and chips
beer and crisps at put stopLow-lights:
can only think of thr busy roads on the last stretch before we got into Southend
lack of beech - but I wasn't expecting anything else so can't complainNice to meet Skully and thanks to him and others for organising, and indeed Corny for the long-range organising!

Exactly--slow but steady is fine and is actually the best way of enjoying the ride. The main gripe from experienced riders is that the ride is over too quickly, so seasoned advice is that you want to stretch it. :)
Done this ride 5 times so I guess I'm an experienced rider, but I still don't find the ride is over too quickly, I find about 2 or 3 in the morning I start to wonder what the hell I'm doing out in the middle of knowhere when I could be tucked up in my comfortable bed with a warm wifey. Then it's all worth it when you get to the Flora Cafe!

You could list The Cyclestore, stock Pinnacle track bikes, only a small shop but the owner seems to know his stuff. Just down the road from Shorter Rochford - useful on Thursday when Shorters are closed!

hang on a minute, was this 'mineral tablet' slipped into your water bottle? And did you also wake up in a strange man's bed with an orange in your mouth and a bag on your head?
